Patent number: 9506780Abstract: A sensor bearing assembly having a rolling element bearing and at least one sensor is provided. The rolling element bearing includes an inner ring, an outer ring, and rolling elements arranged between the inner ring and the outer ring. The at least one sensor is arranged to convert one or more physical magnitudes to electrical sensor signals. The sensor is attached directly or indirectly to the rolling element bearing. The assembly further comprises a converter unit. The converter unit is arranged to convert the electrical sensor signals to output signals, the output signals are different to in type, form and/or amplitude in relation to the electrical sensor signals. The converter unit is also disposed in a separate enclosure that does not share the same enclosure with the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2012Date of Patent: November 29, 2016Assignee: AKTIEBOLAGET SKFInventors: Klemens Schmidt, Jan Doornenbal

Patent number: 7207411Abstract: Steer unit for steer-by-wire comprising angle sensing means (12) for detecting the angular position of a steering wheel (11), processing means (10) connected to the angle sensing means (12) and connectable to a wheel position sensor (22), the wheel position sensor (22) being arranged for providing an output signal representing the position of steered wheels (20) of a vehicle. The processing means (10) are connectable to a steering actuator (21) mechanically coupled to the steered wheels (20), the processing means (10) being arranged for driving the steering actuator (21) dependent on the angular position of the steering wheel (11). The steer unit further comprises friction means (14) for providing a friction force on the steering wheel (11), the friction means (14) being connected to the processing means (10), and the processing means (10) being arranged for driving the friction means (14) in dependence of the wheel position sensor output signal.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2002Date of Patent: April 24, 2007Assignee: AB SKFInventors: Johannes Adrianus Maria Duits, Andreas Clemens Van Der Ham, Johannes Haaye Van Der Kamp, Klemens Schmidt

Patent number: 6379051Abstract: An annular ring used as either the outer race or the bearing race in a roller includes at least one annular recess in which is disposed an annular reinforcement body. The reinforcement body subjects the region of the annular ring radially inside the reinforcement body to mechanical stresses. The side of the reinforcement body oriented toward this region is materially joined or bonded to the ring. The annular reinforcement body preferably possesses an internal radius that is smaller than the internal radius of the recess and the reinforcement body press-fitted into the recess. According to one embodiment, the reinforcement body is poured in liquid form into the recess. The shrinkage of the reinforcement body that occurs during the cooling phase after solidification produces stresses as well.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2000Date of Patent: April 30, 2002Assignee: SKF GmbHInventors: Werner Horn, Hans-Jürgen Liesegang, Klemens Schmidt
