  • Patent number: 5704434
Abstract: A hydraulic torque impulse mechanism comprising a rotatively driven drive member (10) which has a concentric fluid chamber (12) as well as radially acting cams (25, 26, 28), an output shaft (16) which extends into the fluid chamber (12) and which has two radially extending cylinder bores (18, 19) communicating with each other via a central high pressure chamber (23), two oppositely disposed piston elements (20, 21) reciprocable in the cylinder bores (18, 19) by the cams (25, 26, 28), and two valve chambers (45, 46) each comprising a number of fluid communicating openings (50) interconnecting the high pressure chamber (23) and the drive member fluid chamber (12), and a pressure responsive leaf spring valve element(51) for blocking fluid communication through these openings (50) as the pressure difference between the high pressure chamber (23) and the fluid chamber (12) exceeds a certain level.

  • Patent number: 5645130
Abstract: A hydraulic torque impulse mechanism intended for a torque delivering tool and including a rotatively driven drive member (10) provided with a concentric fluid chamber (12) and radially acting cam elements (25, 26, 28), an output shaft (16) extending through the drive member (10) fluid chamber (12) and having two radial cylinder bores (18, 19) which communicate continuously with a central high pressure chamber (23) and support two piston elements (20, 21) which are reciprocable in the cylinder bores (18, 19) by the cam elements (25, 26, 28), whereby the output shaft (16) comprises two moderating chambers (45, 46) which communicate continuously with the high pressure chamber (23) and comprise a pressure responsive yielding system in the form of membranes (50) which are supported by end closures (47) of the moderating chambers (45, 46) and which are elastically deformable by the pressure difference between the high pressure chamber (23) and the fluid chamber (12) as this pressure difference is below a certain l

  • Patent number: 4002212
Abstract: A rotary impact mechanism comprising a rotatable anvil, a rotatably driven hammer, an impact dog rotatably supported by the hammer and a rotatable control spindle which is lockable against rotation relative to the anvil. When locked against rotation the control spindle is arranged to engage the impact dog for shifting the latter from a free-running position to an impact position in which it instantaneously interconnects the hammer and the anvil, thereby providing for a kinetic energy transfer from the hammer to the anvil. A lock dog which is arranged to lock the control spindle against rotation relative to the anvil is arranged to be engaged by a release cam for unlocking the control spindle every second revolution of the hammer.

  • Patent number: 3981647
Abstract: A pneumatic vane motor comprising a cylinder and a vane carrying rotor. The vanes are reciprocably guided in radial slots in the rotor, which slots have a width exceeding the thickness of the vanes. For preventing the vanes from seating flatly on the slot walls they are provided with projection protruding from their both faces at a distance from their inner edges. Thereby, the projections are protected from wear as the vanes, during load transmission to the rotor, reciprocate in the slots.
