Abstract: There are provided a character input apparatus and a tape printing apparatus incorporating the character input apparatus as well as a character input method, which are capable of easily preparing a desired document by calling a design form having a sample text input therein in advance and then editing contents of the sample text. A plurality of design forms each having a sample text input therein in advance are stored, and one design form is selected from the plurality of stored design forms. The sample text of the selected one design form is edited. The sample text of the selected one design form or the edited sample text is displayed on a screen. At the same time, the sample text is also displayed with a cursor added to a character to be edited. In an initial state before editing, the sample text is displayed with the cursor added to a last character thereof.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and program produce small print including character string information in a plurality of languages together with a logo. A language converting function converts an input character string into another language. A multi-language printing function converts the input character string into a specified number and types of languages. A layout function allows specifying one piece of information of the logo, specifying one record, specifying one type of character string information and printing the specified layout as the small print inclusive of the logo and character string.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and program for producing being able to produce a small print having print contents including character string information of a plurality of types of languages or the logo such as the public mark added to the print contents are provided. The invention has a language converting function in which an input character string is converted into another language and the character string of a printing subject includes the converted character string but does not include the input character string. The invention also has a multi-language printing function in which the input character string is converted into the character string of another language in accordance with specified contents of the number of languages and the type of language and the character string or input character string converted into the character string of another language in accordance with the specified contents of the number of languages and the type of language is included in the character string of the printing subject.

Abstract: There is provided a tape printing apparatus which is capable of positively discharging a cut-off tape strip of a tape material out of the apparatus by forcibly discharging the same, thereby preventing jamming and double cutting of the tape material. A full-cutting device for cutting a printed strip off the tape material is arranged at a location downstream of a printing section in a tape-feeding direction. A half-cutting device carries out half-cutting of the tape material. A tape discharge device forcibly discharges the cut-off tape strip out of the apparatus via a tape exit.

Abstract: There are provided a printing apparatus which is capable easily adding menu options and image elements made selectable via the menu options for use in forming a print image, a menu-adding method for the printing apparatus, a printing system incorporating the printing apparatus, as well as storage media storing programs for the printing apparatus and the menu-adding. The printing apparatus forms a print image having an image element selected from a displayed menu, arranged therein. A receiving device receives additional menu data from a predetermined other end of communication, the additional menu data including information of an additional menu option which can be added as a menu option of the menu display, and information of image elements displayed as options hierarchically under the additional menu option. An additional menu-storing device stores the additional menu data.
