  • Patent number: 11919747
Abstract: Described herein is a hoisting block for a crane. The hoisting block includes an engaging element such as a load hook, to which a lifting tool such as a sling or a hoisting frame can be coupled. The hoisting block is provided with winches, outgoing winch cables of which are configured to carry the lifting tool to the engaging element and couple it to the engaging element. Also described herein is a crane provided with the hoisting block. The hoisting block can be applied for carrying a lifting tool to an engaging element and coupling it to the load-bearing means, or for stabilizing an engaging element relative to a support structure.

  • Patent number: 11846267
Abstract: Described herein is a device for upending a tubular element with a longitudinal direction at an outer end. The device has a cross-shaped support structure of mutually coupled beams. The support structure is pivotable round a lifting member connected thereto for connection to a lifting means such as a crane. Clamping members slidable along the beams from a clear position to a clamping position can provide for coupling to a wall part of the outer end of the tubular element in the clamping position. In the clamping position the beams extend substantially transversely of the longitudinal direction of the tubular element. Also described herein is a method which makes use of the device.

  • Patent number: 11828265
Abstract: A coupling tool for connection to an outer end of a tubular element for the purpose of upending the element has an engaging mechanism with which the outer end of the element can be engaged, and a pivotable lifting member with which the coupling tool can be suspended from a lifting device such as a crane. Resilient arms are further mounted on the coupling tool, which arms can be moved from a starting position to a position against a wall part of the outer end of the element for the purpose of aligning the suspended coupling tool relative to the outer end, and for damping movements of the suspended coupling tool. Also described herein is a device which utilizes the coupling tool, and a method which makes use of the device.

  • Publication number: 20230348028
Abstract: Described is a lifting system for taking up an elongate object from a deck of a vessel. The lifting system has a crane arm which is connected to the deck and from which is suspended a take-up frame to which the elongate object can be attached. Also present is a winch setup and control lines connected thereto and configured to control the movement of the elongate object when this object is lifted off the deck. The control lines run from the take-up frame to the winch setup. The winch setup forms part of a support structure which extends from the deck to a height and is intended to be able to absorb the forces acting on the object while it is being lifted off the deck. Also described is a method for taking up an elongate object from a deck of a vessel.

  • Publication number: 20230070015
Abstract: Described is a method for taking up an elongate object from a ground surface using a hoisting yoke coupled to a lifting means. A beam-like support frame of the hoisting yoke extends in a longitudinal direction of the object and slings provided at end parts of the support frame take up the object. The object is taken up in a sling by holding a first outer end of a sling with a first holding means provided at an end part of the support frame and letting it hang down from the first holding means to a position in the vicinity of the object; paying out a messenger line from the end part using a messenger line winch, feeding it under the object and coupling it to a second outer end of the sling hanging from the first holding means; taking in the messenger line so that the sling is carried under the object and to the relevant end part; and coupling the second outer end of the sling to a second holding means provided at the end part, thus forming one of the slings for the object.

  • Patent number: 11473330
Abstract: Described herein is a device for upending a tubular element with a longitudinal direction from a support surface at an outer end. The device has a support beam which runs substantially parallel to the support surface and is connected to the support surface at a support point. The support beam guides a coupling tool to which a wall part of an outer end of the tubular element can be coupled. The coupling tool is displaceable relative to the support surface with the support beam, from a clear position to a coupled position in which the tubular element outer end is engaged by the coupling tool. Also described herein, in addition to the device, is a method which makes use of the device.

  • Patent number: 8594407
Abstract: A method for digitally reconstructing a 3-dimensional tomosynthesis image by iterative reconstruction, a reconstructor, and a computer program product method are capable of plane-by-plane iterative reconstruction for digital breast tomosynthesis. The reconstruction process is based on a grouped coordinate ascent algorithm where the volume is split into a plurality of patches, wherein all patches are parallel to a surface of a detector. Splitting the volume allows implementing a modified model for image acquisition where the physical movement of the x-ray source is taken into account because each of the patches is updated separately and sequentially. In addition the splitting allows an efficient implementation on a graphical processing unit by reducing memory requirements.
