  • Patent number: 11505249
Abstract: A support structure is provided for a vehicle component disposed inside a power-unit chamber where a powertrain unit of the vehicle is disposed. The support structure includes the power-unit chamber including a side frame extending in a vehicle front-and-rear direction, and a suspension tower housing formed overlapping with a part of the side frame in a plan view seen from above the vehicle. The vehicle component is disposed at a location where the vehicle component overlaps with the side frame in the plan view and forward of the suspension tower housing in the vehicle front-and-rear direction. The vehicle component is supported by one of the side frame, and a support member coupled to an inward side surface of a closed-cross-section member connected to the side frame at a location forward of the suspension tower housing in the vehicle front-and-rear direction.

  • Patent number: 8567857
Abstract: A connection member which connects an outside portion of a cross member and an inside wall face portion of a side sill includes a cross-member-side connection portion connected to the cross member and a side-sill-side connection portion connected to the side sill, the side-sill-side connection portion is configured to have a lower rigidity than the cross-member-side connection portion, and an outside end portion of the cross member is located at a specified position which is located on the outside of the cross-member-side connection portion and on the inside away from the inside wall face portion of the side sill. Thereby, the impact load in the vehicle side collision can be effectively supported by the cross member with a simple structure.

  • Patent number: 8292356
Abstract: A reinforcing member is provided at a lower-outside corner of a side-sill reinforcement so as to extend in the vehicle longitudinal direction including a connection portion of the side sill to a center pillar for straining deformation of the corner. A deformation promoting portion which is provided at an upper portion of the side-sill reinforcement at a specified position which corresponds to the connection portion for prompting deformation of the upper portion of the side-sill reinforcement. Accordingly, a lower vehicle-body structure of a vehicle which can properly restrain the side sill and the center pillar from coming toward the vehicle inside at the vehicle side crash can be provided.
