Abstract: The present invention provides a Web page edit screen that allows an author to edit parent and child documents collectively while showing, in an appropriate manner, the content of the child document embedded in the parent document. Associated documents of a Web page to be edited are managed as managed documents individually. Document-by-document structure information is derived from the content of each managed document. Web page structure information is then assembled by connecting the document-by-document structure information based on embed-related code. Edit screen data is generated based on the content of the managed documents and the Web page structure information to generate a browser-type edit screen. The content of a relevant managed document is synchronized with the edited content on the edit screen. The edit screen data is matched with the edited content on the edit screen.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus are disclosed for simultaneously displaying different images in one whole image display area, and easily performing the switching and selection of display. The present invention distinguishes subtle differences between images by partitioning a whole image display area into several parts, and simultaneously displaying images before and after processing, or images that are results of different processing. Furthermore, so as to easily distinguish which image is currently selected, a selection frame is displayed around the image selected. In addition, so as to easily switch the display of images, a user interface is realized, that makes it possible to easily switch display methods without clicking by a system detecting a cursor position of a pointing device, and that makes it possible to easily select a desired image by clicking.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product that have a graphical user interface capable of easily generating different kinds of items on a canvas by a user by operation of a mouse pointer on the canvas without requiring movement of the mouse pointer between a palette and the canvas are disclosed. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention a system is provided which comprises displaying means to display a pointer and a positional reference on a display screen; input means to accept an operation by a user; and control means to control a position and a function of the pointer on the display screen in response to the operation; wherein the control means determines the function of the pointer according to a distance between the position of the pointer and the positional reference.
