  • Patent number: 9440443
Abstract: A liquid ejecting head is provided with a suction port capable of avoiding the return of mists, which have already been sucked through a suction port, back to the suction port. In view of this, the inner diameter of a suction tube for allowing liquid mists taken in through the suction port to pass is designed such that a meniscus is formed before a liquid droplet adhering to the inside of the suction tube grows enough to move toward the suction port.

  • Publication number: 20160257140
Abstract: Gas is ejected toward a region between a liquid ejection head and a recording medium so as to enlarge and stabilize a vortex generated by an airflow generated by liquid droplets ejected from ejection ports. Accordingly, an airflow turbulence generated between the liquid ejection head and the recording medium is reduced and displacements of positions at which the liquid droplets are applied due to the airflow turbulence are reduced.

  • Publication number: 20160257139
Abstract: A liquid ejecting head ejects liquid from a plurality of ejection orifices thereof for recording while being moved relative to a recording medium. The liquid ejecting head includes a gas discharge port configured to allow gas to be discharged therefrom. The gas discharge port is disposed on a downstream side of the ejection orifices in a direction of relative movement of the recording medium as viewed from the liquid ejecting head. The gas discharged from the gas discharge port joins an airflow that forms a vortex on an upstream side of the ejection orifices in the direction of relative movement. The vortex is generated by the liquid ejected from the ejection orifices.

  • Publication number: 20160207309
Abstract: The present invention suppresses the adhesion of a particle to a liquid ejecting head due to an electric field generated at an electric power supply wire disposed in the liquid ejecting head. The liquid ejecting head is provided with a conductive member covering at least a part of the electric power supply wire for supplying electric power to an ejection energy generating unit configured to generate ejection energy for ejecting liquid via an insulator. The conductive member covers the electric power supply wire in a coverage determined based on a relative movement speed between an ejection port and a print medium, a size of a particle floating between an ejection port forming surface and the print medium, an electric charge amount of the particle, and a voltage applied to the electric power supply wire.

  • Patent number: 9358793
Abstract: The present invention suppresses the spread of a mist of a liquid ejected from a liquid ejection head. Air is blown out toward a printing medium from a blowing-out opening relatively moving together with a print head, as the liquid ejection head, with respect to the printing medium. • Patent number: 9150022
Abstract: Air blown out from one blowing-out opening of a pinch roller which is within a predetermined angle range forms an air flow of a flow rate Fc which heads for a region between a suction mechanism and a print medium. This makes it possible to efficiently guide the air blown out from the blowing-out opening into the region, and as a result, ink mist can be collected satisfactorily even in a case where the amount of air blown from the pinch roller is relatively small. Further, in this case, the flow rate Fe of a flow blown from the pinch roller is appropriately determined, whereby the suction mechanism can collect substantially 100% of air and ink mist flowing into the region.
