  • Patent number: 7075566
Abstract: A display having separate transmitting and receiving sets is provided with a feature to simplify adjustment to the video signal transmission path between the both sets. The display employs a directional video signal transmission path and a sub communication path using a non-directional communication medium independent from the transmission path. Fine adjustment to subtly adjust the spatial matching of the video signal transmission path is carried out using a control signal transmitted through the sub communication path. Coarse adjustment to roughly adjust the spatial matching of the video signal transmission path is carried out using a test video image displayed at the display portion of the receiving set. These fine adjustment and coarse adjustment are combined to keep an optimum spatial matching of the video signal transmission path between the sets.

  • Publication number: 20040052535
Abstract: A modulating apparatus modulates data to be transmitted according to a predetermined modulating system and generates a modulated wave, so that an optical device is driven by the modulated wave and a light-modulated wave is transmitted. As a result, an optical data communication can be realized. Since the optical device has non-linearity, a cross modulated wave is generated by the modulation of the data. However, if a carrier frequency is chosen so that the cross modulated wave does not enter a frequency band for transmitting the data, the problem of the cross modulated wave can be removed and data transmission without distortion can be achieved. The cost can be low if an LED is utilized as the optical device. Also, high-speed data transmission is possible if a multi-value modulating system is utilized.

  • Patent number: 6324142
Abstract: The waveform recognition unit recognizes pulse waveforms of plural kinds in the digital signal, and the storage unit stores recording signal waveforms which are waveforms of the recording signals preset in correspondence with the pulse waveforms of plural kinds. The timing candidate signal generation unit generates a timing candidate signal which is a candidate of a signal indicative of at least one of a rising timing and a falling timing of the recording signal, on the basis of a reference clock signal having a period equal to a reference period of the digital signal. The timing signal selection unit selects the timing candidate signal corresponding to at least one of the rising timing and the falling timing as the timing signal, on the basis of the waveform of the recording signal corresponding to the pulse waveform recognized by the waveform recognition unit.

  • Patent number: 5136560
Abstract: On a composite CAV/CLV disc, information signals and identification codes indicative of the time-base positions of the information signals are recorded in at least first and second, radially different regions in CAV and CLV formats. To play back the composite CAV/CLV disc, the present position of an information reading spot applied to the disc is detected as a present position code according to an identification code read from the disc, and a destination position to which the information reading spot is to be jumped is detected as a destination position code. Then, the number of tracks to be jumped which corresponds to the difference between the present position code and the destination position code is calculated according to different functions when both the present and destination positions are in one of the first and second regions only and in the other region only.

  • Patent number: 5079755
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a deviation of reading position for use in a disc player. A detection signal of the deviation of reading position is generated if a sync signal to be extracted from the read-out signal is not yielded for a predetermined time period under the presence of a lock detection signal which is produced when the focus servo system is in a locking condition. Owing to this structure, the deviation of the information reading light spot from a proper position is surely detected without enlarging the scale of circuits in the disc player.

  • Patent number: 4964111
Abstract: A slider control device in a disk player wherein normal speed information in each operation; mode of the slider, holding a pickup, is stored in a memory beforehand and the moving speed of the slider in each operation mode is detected and compared with the normal speed. The driving source of the slider is controlled according to the result of comparison. With this arrangement, even when the slider is driven at a high speed using, for example, a linear motor as a driving source for the slider, it is possible to execute secure speed control.
