    Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a printing unit that prints images on sheets, a sheet processing unit that executes bookbinding processing on sheets on which images have been printed by the printing unit, a stack control unit that stacks, in a stacking unit, bookbinding products on which bookbinding processing has been executed by the sheet processing unit, a setting unit that sets whether or not to activate a stacking limit of bookbinding products to be stacked on the stacking unit by the stack limiting unit, and a control unit that performs control so as to stop stacking in the stacking unit by the stack control unit in accordance with the stacking limit in the case where the stacking limit of bookbinding products has been set to activated by the setting unit.

    Abstract: If the temperature of a fixing unit is not stable when automatic gradation correction is performed, an error occurs in gradation correction when a chart for gradation measurement is output. An image forming apparatus of the present invention is characterized by including a unit configured to transfer a toner image based on image data onto a sheet, to pass the sheet through a fixing unit, and to output a first chart, a unit configured to create a conversion table for gradation correction using a value obtained by reading the output first chart, and a stabilization processing unit configured to stabilize the fixing unit by outputting a second chart before outputting the first chart when creation of the conversion table for gradation correction is instructed, wherein the stabilization processing unit outputs the second chart in a number of sheets specified in advance by a user.

    Abstract: A printing apparatus performs printing with the use of sheets of paper set in any of a plurality of paper-feeding units. The print apparatus is controlled by a method including: determining whether the amount of sheets of paper remaining in a first paper-feeding unit has reached a predetermined amount; and if so switching from the first paper-feeding unit to a second paper-feeding unit. If it is determined that the amount of sheets of paper that remain in the first paper-feeding unit has reached the predetermined amount, control is performed so that the paper-feeding unit that is used for printing should be changed after the ejection of the last one of a plurality of sheets of paper that are included in one set thereof set in the first paper-feeding unit.
