  • Patent number: 7116950
Abstract: A transmitter is provided which includes a transmitting circuit that does not require a high-performance low noise VCO restricting cost reduction thereof and that can reduce the number of parts without requiring an RF filter. A direct conversion that does not require a transmission VCO is applied to the transmitting circuit. In order to achieve noise reduction in a receiving band, low-pass filters are provided a IQ input sections of a modulator that converts IQ signals into RF signals. In comparison with a conventional transmitter using offset PLL, an external VCO required in addition to an RF integrated circuit, a power amplifier, and a front end circuit is reduced. Even in current transistor performance, by using a filter having rapid waveform characteristics such as a SAW more inexpensive than the VCO, or the like, it is possible to provide a GSM/GSM 1800/GSM1900 triple band transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20050040896
Abstract: If a transmission oscillator is incorporated into a communication semiconductor integrated circuit, such as high a frequency IC, constituting a wireless communication system, a problem arises. The accuracy of control of the output power of a power amplifier is degraded. This degradation in accuracy is caused by coupling noise between the output pins of the transmission oscillator and an input pin for detection signals (feedback signals) associated with the output level of the power amplifier or crosstalk. To prevent this, a transmission oscillator of differential output configuration is incorporated into a high frequency IC and an impedance equivalent to the impedance connected with a regular output terminal or a dummy external terminal for outputting transmit signals in opposite phase is provided.

  • Publication number: 20040264608
Abstract: A D.C. offset canceling technique and a gain adjusting technique permitting completion of correction of D.C. offsets and gain adjustment of amplifiers for amplifying reception signals in a relatively short period of time in a radio communication system, such as a wireless LAN, are to be provided. A communication semiconductor integrated circuit (high frequency IC) has a plurality each of low-pass filters and variable gain amplifiers which are alternately connected in multiple stages, and high gain amplifier circuits for amplifying reception signals to a predetermined amplitude level while eliminating unnecessary waves. Offset cancellation values are generated by detecting in advance D.C. offsets of amplifiers for amplifying reception signals according to a set gain, and stored into a memory, and read out of the memory to cancel the D.C. offsets of the amplifiers at the time of starting reception and altering the gain.

  • Patent number: 6415102
Abstract: In a digital camera in which image data produced through a photographing operation is compressed to be written in a memory card, even if a shutter release button is depressed during the recording of the image data in the memory card, the photographing can be immediately achieved. While image data stored in a buffer memory is being compressed to be stored in the memory card, the depression of shutter release button is continuously monitored. If the release button is pressed, the recording operation in the memory card is interrupted to conduct the photographing. After the photographing is finished, the image data for which the recording is interrupted is compressed to be entirely written in the memory card beginning at the start point thereof.

  • Patent number: 6151067
Abstract: A connector adapted to detect a connective state is disposed in a monitor having a video input terminal and display. The detector detects the presence of an external video output connected to the video input terminal. When a video input it detected, a power controller enables the video display; however, if no connection is detected to the monitor input, power to the display is disabled. According to one embodiment the detector determines the connective state based on the presence of a video signal input from the video input terminal. In yet another embodiment the control signal terminal is provided for connection with a video camera. In addition, video operation switch and output for controlling the video camera are also provided. Finally, the monitor may include an infrared controller for sending control signals to control the operation of the video camera.

  • Patent number: 5710597
Abstract: A video camera having a taking lens of multiple focal lengths is provided with a separate, multiple focal length view finder lens. When power has been supplied to the camera via the "on" switch but a switch for video recording has not yet been closed, the focal length of the view finder is automatically made to coincide with the focal length of the taking lens so as permit the scene to be viewed in the same frame size as it will appear when recording, but without wasting power by supplying power to those circuits of the taking lens that form electrical signals of the scene or that record the scene. In addition, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, six different power level consumption states are provided so as to supply power only to the minimum circuitry required for each state.
