  • Publication number: 20170203764
Abstract: In assisting merging vehicles on the road, a own vehicle is accelerated to target speed on a first lane. The own vehicle accelerated to the target speed is caused to change a travel lane from the first lane into a second lane. A distance A from the own vehicle to a reference position is acquired in the first lane, and speed of the own vehicle is also acquired. A traveling distance B required for the own vehicle to stop is calculated under a condition where the own vehicle traveling at speed acquired starts to slow down at predetermined deceleration. Assisting in merging is performed, on condition that a value obtained by subtracting the calculated distance B from the acquired distance A is smaller than a predetermined threshold value during a period from a start time of the acceleration to a start time of changing the travel lane.

  • Publication number: 20170151960
Abstract: A retreat traveling assist apparatus is provided with a state detecting module, a traveling command module, and a body command module. The state detecting module detects a state in which a driver of the vehicle cannot drive the vehicle properly (hereinafter referred to as driving-impossible state). The traveling command module activates a retreat travelling deceleration control to stop the vehicle in a refuge place surrounding the vehicle, when the state detecting module detects the driving-impossible state. The body command module activates a pretensioner control to tighten a seatbelt of a driver's seat in the vehicle, in response to an activation of the retreat traveling deceleration control activated by the traveling command module.

  • Patent number: 8914208
Abstract: When the vehicle decelerates on the ascending slope, a required brake axle torque is calculated in accordance with vehicle deceleration, so that the swinging back is suppressed. At start timing after that, initial and final values of the required brake axle torque and a correction duration are determined. During the correction duration from the start timing, the required brake axle torque is decreased from the initial value to the final value. Then, based on change in a detected vehicular speed at or before a time which is a last moment of a period in which the detected vehicular speed detected based on detection signals of the wheel speed sensors are equal to or larger than a minimum detectable vehicular speed, a stop time at which an actual vehicle speed becomes zero is estimated, a period from the start time to the stop time is identified as the correction duration.

  • Publication number: 20050022977
Abstract: A counter-stream-mode oscillating-flow heat transport apparatus accommodates a change in volume of a liquid while preventing reduction in heat transport capability. A flow path and a buffer tank are placed in communication with each other via a throttle such as a capillary tube. This prevents a channel connecting the flow path and the buffer tank from having an excessively reduced channel resistance (flow path resistance). This prevents the fluid in a heat transport device assembly (the flow path) from only going back and forth between the heat transport device assembly and the buffer tank without experiencing liquid (pressure) oscillations in the heat transport device assembly. Accordingly, the liquid in the heat transport device assembly is prevented from being reduced in amplitude of oscillation, thereby preventing degradation in heat transport capability of the counter-stream-mode oscillating-flow heat transport apparatus.
