  • Publication number: 20020164074
Abstract: This invention relates to an image processing method for precisely and automatically recognizing a specific image extraction region to be divided from an input image, and extracting the specific image extraction region. Thresholding is done for intensity differences of edge data obtained from the input data to extract difference edge data. A main extraction region is estimated from the outermost contour line extracted based on the extraction result of the difference edge data. Thresholding or the like is done in units of pixels of the input image to extract an initial region. Extraction region determination processing is done for extracting an accurate target region by combining the main extraction region and initial region.

  • Publication number: 20020033886
Abstract: When a shutter button of an electronic camera is depressed, the electronic camera photographs a subject and the photographed image data is stored into a main storage device of the electronic camera. Upon receiving a photography command from a computer connected to the electronic camera, a check is made to determine whether the main storage device of the electronic camera still holds image data to be processed. If the main storage device still holds image data to be processed, then an error signal is sent to a device from which the photography command is issued. If the main storage device does not hold image data to be processed, then the electronic camera photographs a subject and the photographed image is stored into the main storage device. then, a notice of normal termination is sent to a device from which the photography command is issued.

  • Patent number: 5362944
Abstract: In a glow plug, a resistance element buried in an elongated, rod-like insulating ceramic member includes first and second resistive heating elements. The first heating element is arranged at the front end portion of a ceramic heater and made of a positive temperature coefficient resistive ceramic material, containing silicon nitride, such as SiAlON. The second heating element is arranged behind of and connected in series with the first heating element and made of a metal material (e.g., tungsten) having a positive temperature coefficient of resistance larger than that of the first heating element. Both heating elements are arranged in the portion of the ceramic member projecting outwardly from the holder and metal pipe fitted about the control portions of the ceramic member. The glow plug further comprises a metal holder holding the rod-like member in a way that a front portion of the rod-like member protrudes from the metal holder.

  • Patent number: 5312540
Abstract: Super-hard grinding particles are electrodeposited on a metallic grinder matrix having recessed portions defined in an outer peripheral surface thereof to thereby produce a desired grinder used for a grinding machine. The grinder matrix is disposed within a mesh-like grinding-particle holder provided in a plating tank. Further, the grinding particles are packed into the grinding-particles holder. The grinding particles held in contact with the recessed portions of the grinder matrix are bonded to the grinder matrix using a plating layer formed by electroplating. The grinder matrix is reversed upsidedown and holding the grinding particles in contact with the recessed portions of the reversed grinder matrix.
