  • Publication number: 20030057688
Abstract: A gas generating apparatus is provided which includes a plurality of combustion chambers and a filter chamber. The filter chamber contains a filter which includes a region which is not substantially heated by combustion gases generated by one combustion chamber and which receives combustion gases subsequently generated in another combustion chamber. In this fashion, a high gas cooling efficiency is achieved. The gas generating apparatus has an upwardly-opening vessel-shaped base and a downwardly-opening vessel-shaped cup which when combined form an outer shell of combustion chambers. A filter cap is fixed to the upper side of the cup, thereby defining the filter chamber. A first combustion chamber is positioned outside a pipe through the base and a second combustion chamber is formed inside the pipe. A shim on the inner surface of the filter chamber prevents combustion gases emitted by one combustion chamber entering another combustion chamber.

  • Publication number: 20020135172
Abstract: A gas generator is provided in which partitions for forming a plurality of gas-generation chambers are easily mounted. A detonator disposed in a booster tube is ignited by an initiator for the booster tube. A gas-generating agent disposed above or below a partition plate reacts to the reaction gas from the detonator, and a gas passes through a filter and is ejected through gas outlets. Booster tubes include larger diameter portions at the upper portions of the booster tubes, and smaller diameter portions at the lower portions of the booster tubes. The larger diameter portions are formed in a diameter-enlarging process. During formation of the gas generator, the booster tubes are individually inserted into holes of the partition plate from the smaller diameter portions of the booster tubes.

  • Publication number: 20020035430
Abstract: A navigation system is provided with: an operation section that selects a scheduled route along which a vehicle is scheduled to move; a system controller that searches for a different route while the vehicle is moving along the scheduled route, the different route serving to reach a destination for which the mobile unit moves along the scheduled route, and compares the searched different route with the scheduled route for movement of the vehicle from a current position of the vehicle onward; and a display section that gives notice of a comparison result obtained by the controller.

  • Publication number: 20010023839
Abstract: A first construction of a tray for electronic parts according to the present invention is provided with an engaging cut-out corner portion which is formed by cutting a corner portion of a table-like flat portion which is arranged diagonally with respect to a cut-out corner portion. A second construction of a tray for electronic parts according to the present invention is provided with a pawl engaging protruding portion which is formed on a step-like peripheral edge portion above a cut-out portion. In a third construction of a tray for electronic parts according to the present invention, when two trays are stacked up so that the top faces thereof face each other, an engaging first-shaped protrusion which is formed around a predetermined pocket of one tray engages an engaging second-shaped protrusion which is formed around a predetermined pocket of the other tray.

  • Patent number: 6174458
Abstract: A tetracyclic compound expressed by the following general formula (1) wherein H1 to H12 represent hydrogen atom at least one of which is replaced by a halogen atom, when either H6 or H8 is replaced by a halogen atom, at least one of the remaining hydrogen atoms is replaced by a halogen atom; R1 and Y1 independently represent an alkyl group, alkoxy group, or alkoxyalkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or an alkenyl group having 2 to 20 carbon atoms, one or more methylene group in R1 and Y1 may be replaced by oxygen atom, sulfur atom, dihydrosilylene group, dimethylsilylene group, —CH═CH—, or —C≡C—; and X1, X2, and X3 independently represent a covalent bond, 1,2-ethylene group, or 1,4-butylene group; and a novel liquid crystal composition comprising the tetracyclic compound and having, at the same time, a wide temperature range of a nematic phase, high optical anisotropy, and high chemical stability.

  • Patent number: 5083504
Abstract: A drink extraction apparatus utilizing a pump for pumping hot water from a hot-water tank and, through a pumping tube, pouring such hot water onto drink material in a drink material container, and for, upon completion of the extraction, sending into such drink material container pressurized air through such pumping tube to cut dripping from a filter by expelling hot water in the drink material residue, the air being pumped directly from the air intake or pumped into an air tank to pressurize the air.
