  • Patent number: 9990354
Abstract: An information displaying apparatus having a touch-panel display unit is provided. An information obtaining unit obtains explanation information of a direction word specified by user, and displays the obtained explanation information of the direction word on the touch-panel displaying unit. When the user touches on the touch-panel display unit, a multi-touch detecting unit detects touch positions on the touch-panel display unit. A shift judging unit judges whether a distance between the detected touch positions has increased or decreased, when the user shifts the touch positions on the touch-panel display unit. A display-information controlling unit displays detailed explanation information of the direction word, when the shift judging unit determines that the distance between the touch positions has increased, and displays simplified explanation information of the direction word, when the shift judging unit determines that the distance between the touch positions has decreased.

  • Publication number: 20160055007
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a control device. The control device includes a storage device including a first storage field to store a procedure for a control process of the information processing apparatus and a second storage field to store a procedure for a setting process corresponding to a user of the information processing apparatus, a memory storing a boot flag to specify whether the setting process is to be executed, and a processor configured to set the boot flag so as to restrain the execution of the setting process after executing the setting process.

  • Patent number: 7720215
Abstract: While the amplification factor of an external amplifier is increased to raise the minimum volume level, synthesized speech of text data is generated as PCM data. When the PCM data is output for each frame (63 ms), the voltage of a battery power supply is detected and different ATT values (attenuation ratios) are set in accordance with threshold values (Level 1˜4) corresponding to the detected voltage. The lower the power supply voltage, the larger the attenuation ratios. The PCM data is attenuated by such an attenuation ratio to reduce a load to the battery power supply. Even though the battery power supply is exhausted to some extent, no power-down due to an instantaneous increase in power load occurs, with the result that a high-level part of a series of speech data items is output at an adequate volume level that makes a low-level part thereof easy to hear.

  • Patent number: 5943049
Abstract: A plurality of images each indicative of a file to be processed or its items to be processed is displayed on a display. When message information is displayed which is to be transmitted to the user with respect to each of the images, a surrounding image which surrounds the message information is displayed to emphasize and display the message information. When a face image is displayed on the display screen, the message information is displayed in the form of a balloon used frequently in a cartoon or animation as if the message information were uttered from the face image. The displayed shape of the balloon is changed in accordance with attributes of the face image displayed on the display screen so as to harmonize with the face image.
