  • Publication number: 20120203437
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preventing a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, from rolling away, wherein the vehicle is equipped with a compressed air treatment unit (APU) and at least one associated pressure sensor for detecting at least one pressure in a brake circuit, in particular with an electronic compressed air treatment unit (E-APU), and a self-braking system (for example ASR, ESP, FDR, EBS). The invention further relates to a computer program product, which carries out such a method. Furthermore, the invention relates to an electronic compressed air treatment unit (E-APU) and to a self-braking system (ASR, ESP, FDR, EBS).

  • Patent number: 7333459
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for allocating an address of a data service offering server to a communication device such as a mobile services device or a SIM card. With the allocation, the server address is selected from a number of address identifiers. Each address identifier identifies a valid server independently of the current server configuration of the communication network. The server address can be combined out of a fixed and a variable portion. Moreover, the address identifiers can be updated, for example, by means of a so-called DNS server. The described server address allocation method improves the scalability of the communication system and offers an efficient measure for load distribution for both the data service offering application servers and for so-called DNS servers. Moreover, the invention relates to a corresponding communication device for allocating a server address, and to a corresponding communication system and computer program.

  • Patent number: 7123626
Abstract: The present invention provides a method, a system, a node in a communications system and a computer program facilitating a data transmission from a push service provider that addresses data by an Internet protocol address to a receiver which is identified in a communications system by a subscriber identity different to the IP address. The subscriber identity is determined by use of a first portion of the IP address for a look-up of a first portion of the subscriber identity, and by an assignment of a second portion of the IP address to a second portion of the subscriber identity. The invention can be used for different IP address formats like IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. The invention can be used in GSM/GPRS systems, PDC/PPDC and UMTS systems.

  • Publication number: 20040246895
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for limiting congestion in a packet-based network, particularly for controlling the transmission of voice traffic. A node in the network, such as a router, transmits at least one data stream comprising a plurality of data packets to a second node; the data streams can correspond to existing voice calls being transmitted through the network. The bandwidth utilization between the first node and second node is determined, and supervision packets are forwarded from the first node to the second node at a rate that is a function of the bandwidth utilization, the rate being inversely-proportional to the bandwidth utilization. At the second node, the congestion of the network can be determined based on the rate at which the supervision packets are received and, if the congestion exceeds a predefined threshold, the establishment of new voice calls through the second node and into the network can be limited.
