  • Patent number: 8187395
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrical contact having high electrical conductivity for a compact electromagnetic relay including an internally oxidized silver-oxide material which is prepared by subjecting an Ag alloy having a composition consisting essentially of, by weight, 5.1 to 9% Sn, 1.5 to 5% In, and 0.005 to 0.06% Bi, with the balance being Ag and unavoidable impurities, to an internal oxidation treatment and then subjecting to a heat treatment for diffusion, aggregation, and growth of precipitated oxides, wherein the internally oxidized silver-oxide material has a metallographic structure such that coarse grains of composite oxides are dispersed and distributed in an Ag matrix, the coarse grains of composite oxides being formed as a result of coarsening of ultra-fine grains of Sn-based oxides and ultra-fine grains of In-based oxides, which are precipitated by the internal oxidation treatment, by the heat treatment for diffusion, aggregation, and growth of the precipitated oxides.

  • Patent number: 5376328
Abstract: There is disclosed a precious metal article which is formed of a solid-phase sintered product of a precious metal powder. For manufacturing the precious metal article, a moldable mixture which contains a precious metal powder and a binder removable by sintering is shaped into a prescribed molded object, and the molded object is then subjected to sintering. The moldable mixture is produced by preparing a precious metal powder, preparing a jellylike cellulose binder by blending a cellulose with water and leaving for a prescribed period of time, and blending the precious metal powder and the jellylike cellulose binder together. The most preferable moldable mixture contains 50 to 90% by weight of precious metal powder, 0.8 to 8% by weight of water-soluble cellulose binder, 0.08 to 3% by weight of a surface-active agent. 0.1 to 3% by weight of oil, balance water and unavoidable impurities.

Date of Patent: December 27, 1994
    Assignee: Mitsubishi Materials Corporation
Inventors: Koji Hoshino, Masaki Morikawa, Tohru Kohno, Koshiro Ueda, Masaki Miyakawa

  • Patent number: 5284615
Abstract: The present invention presents a method of processing ferrous powder materials to produce small component parts exhibiting excellent soft magnetic properties, in particular, residual magnetic flux density. The processing steps involve, in part, mixing with a binder, dewaxing or presintering at a temperature higher than in the conventional dewaxing process, followed by final sintering and a further conversion sintering, at a temperature lower than in the conventional sintering process, to produce parts having density values of over 96% theoretical density and excellent soft magnetic properties. The invented method is suitable for producing small component parts having sufficient strength and excellent soft magnetic properties to make them suitable for miniaturized electrical and electronic equipment.
