Abstract: A golf club head has a hollow structure composed of a head main body including a face portion provided with an opening and a face member fitted in the opening and welded to the head main body. The welded part between the face member and the head main body includes a crown-side welded part positioned substantially at the upper edge or alternatively spaced apart from the upper edge toward the lower edge by a certain distance, and a sole-side welded part spaced apart from the lower edge toward the upper edge by a certain distance which is more than zero and more than the distance. The face portion is provided between the sole-side welded part and the lower edge with a sole-side thin area whose thickness is less than a thickness of the face member.

The weight member is fixed to a toe side of the head main body at a toe side end portion and fixed to a heel side of the head main body at a heel side end portion so as not to contact with the inner surface of the head main body between the toe side end portion and heel side end portion. The cross-sectional area of the weight member is decreased in a central portion in the toe-heel direction than its heel side and toe side.

A three-dimensional angle of the shaft 56 to the head 54 is changed depending on the circumferential direction fixed positions of the sleeve 58. The head 54 includes a head marking Hm. The exposed part Ex includes a shaft marking Sm for confirming the circumferential direction fixed positions.
