  • Patent number: 7131797
Abstract: A tool holder has a cutter arbor. The cutter arbor has a shank portion detachably mounted on a spindle, and a mechanism for holding a cutting tool. In the cutter arbor portion, a cavity portion is formed. In the cavity portion, a vibration damping material is filled at a filling rate so as to be capable of obtaining predetermined vibration damping characteristics. Thus, it is possible to provide high vibration damping characteristics, effectively damp vibrations during cutting and improve working precision, without using any special materials, such as damping materials, although the tool holder has a usual shape.

  • Patent number: 6859680
Abstract: A numerical controlling unit includes: an inputting part into which a machining program is inputted; an analyzing part that analyzes the machining program to generate an instructed spindle rotational speed and calculates a spindle load ratio of a load applied to a spindle under a machining condition according to the machining program to a spindle load caused when the workpiece is machined: and a distributing part that generates, based on the machining program, a distribution amount per unit period inputted into a feed-axis servo driver. A spindle-rotational-amount-command outputting part receives the instructed spindle rotational speed and outputs a spindle-rotational-amount command for commanding a rotational amount per unit period which is inputted into a spindle driver. A cutting-load-for-judgment calculating part calculates a reference torque value based on the spindle load ratio, the distribution amount, and the spindle-rotational-amount command.

  • Patent number: 6601484
Abstract: A cutting tool for a machine tool is provided in order to cut an inside corner of a workpiece. The cutting tool has at least one cutting edge formed on its bottom. In operation, the cutting tool is rotated by the machine tool. Further, both cutting tool and workpiece move relatively to each other in accordance with the rotating angle of the cutting tool so that the cutting tool has its outer end describing a moving track in agreement with the contour of an inside corner of the workpiece. The cutting tool further moves along the direction of a rotating axis of the cutting tool in rotation.

  • Patent number: 6190098
Abstract: A numerical control system for a machine tool comprises a feed speed setting unit, which outputs a signal of a set feed speed of the machine tool, and a feed speed overriding unit, which outputs a signal of a feed speed overriding according to an input of the feed speed overriding. An interpolation unit connects to the feed speed setting unit and the feed speed overriding unit. The interpolation unit determines a command signal of the feed speed of the machine tool by performing interpolation calculations according to he signal of the set feed speed unit and the signal of the feed speed overriding unit. Based upon its calculations, the interpolation unit outputs a target position of each spindle at each sampling time.
