    Abstract: There is provided a vehicle driving support device. The vehicle driving support device according to the present invention calculates a time-to-collision to an obstacle ahead. When the time-to-collision is shorter than a predetermined threshold value, which means the possibility of the collision between the obstacle and a vehicle is determined to be high, and in at least either one of cases in which an engine automatic stop controller automatically stops an engine and in which a brake negative pressure is higher than a set pressure, so that the negative pressure of a brake booster is insufficient, the device outputs a signal to a brake controller so as to start a pump of a brake driver for realizing a prefill function in which a brake pad of each wheel is pressed against a braking surface of a disc rotor.

    Abstract: A multiple disk clutch is provided for a rear wheel differential of a vehicle. A restricting torque for the clutch is set by vehicle speed, longitudinal acceleration and lateral acceleration of the vehicle. A large steering angle at a low vehicle speed is detected in accordance with the vehicle speed and a steering angle. In response to the restricting torque and a detected large steering angle at a low vehicle speed, the clutch is operated to reduce a restricting operation for the clutch.

    Abstract: A steering control method for a motor vehicle with a differential. The quantity and direction of a torque displacement in the state in which restricting means is locked are calculated. When the direction of the torque displacement is from an outside wheel to an inside wheel, a restricting torque is set at zero. On the other hand, when the direction of the torque displacement is from the inside wheel to the outside wheel, the ratio between the load displacement magnitudes of a front axle is calculated. A front axle driving torque is calculated from a transmission gear position, an engine speed and a throttle opening degree. The restricting torque is calculated so that a torque distribution to the inside and outside wheels may become substantially equal to a load distribution to them. The correction amount of a steering assist force is calculated from the restricting torque, and the mass offset of a wheel tire, the diameter of the wheel tire and a steering gear ratio.
