  • Patent number: 6272851
Abstract: This invention relates to an exhaust recirculation system for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine (1), wherein intake air aspirated to a collector (4) from an intake passage (6) of circular cross-section is provided to cylinders (#1-#4) via branch pipes (5A-5D) connected the collector (4). The exhaust gas recirculation system is provided with an exhaust gas recirculation pipe (7) which branches off from an exhaust passage (3) and connected to the intake passage (6), and an exhaust gas inlet (8, 9) which leads a recirculated exhaust gas of the exhaust recirculation pipe (7) into the intake passage (6) along a tangent line of the circular cross-section of the intake passage (6).

  • Patent number: 6138651
Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation system for returning part of exhaust gas of an engine to an intake system has at least one EGR gas introduction port for directing the EGR gas into an intake air passage downstream of a throttle valve. The EGR introduction port opens, into the intake passage, in a tangential direction to produce a circumferential flow along an inside curved surface of the intake air passage around a central back flow region behind the throttle valve to mix the EGR gas efficiently with the fresh intake air and to prevent deposits on the throttle valve.

  • Patent number: 5396373
Abstract: A digital VTR using Automatic Track Finding (ATF) of a four frequency pilot signal system, employing a multiple segment recording system for high density recording and wide band recording. In a recording mode, a segment code signal is recorded on each track in response to a frame synchronizing signal. In a reproduction mode, the phase difference between the reproduced segment code signal and the frame synchronizing signal is detected by phase comparing circuit 26. The rotation speed of capstan motor 29 is controlled so that the phase relation of one signal in the reproduction mode becomes the same as that in the recording mode. As a result, it is possible to reproduce a stable video in the VTR using the segment recording system.

  • Patent number: 4788522
Abstract: An image sensing device includes a plurality of photoelectric elements arranged in the form of a single array and divided into n number of blocks each of which includes m number of the photoelectric elements commonly connected at one end. In one form of the present invention, a single operational amplifier and m number of switching circuits are used to establish operational independency of the m.times.n photoelectric elements. In other forms, operational independecy of the m.times.n photoelectric elements is established by using an array of blocking diodes or operational amplifiers constructed in the form of IC, but all of the components of a driving or scanning circuit, including these blocking diodes or operational amplifiers, are so structured to be mounted on the same substrate which is remarkably compact in size. Also provided are various forms of photoelectric cells which are particularly suited to be incorporated into an image sensing device and methods for manufacturing the same.
