  • Patent number: 6713252
Abstract: Described is a method of removing and reducing HCV from the blood of an HCV-infected patient, which comprises carrying out, once a day for at least 5 straight days, a treatment of bringing the blood into contact with an adsorptive carrier having a higher affinity for infected, activated and/or defective leukocytes than for uninfected leukocytes. The treatment according to the present invention makes it possible to markedly reduce the blood HCV level of a patient suffering from Hepatitis C, thereby enabling antiviral therapy, for example, treatment with interferon. This brings a drastic improvement in the cure rate for Hepatitis C.

  • Patent number: 6007280
Abstract: A method for improving dimensional accuracy of a casting pattern. A division block used to form the casting pattern is fixed on a block fixing surface of an NC machine and then the front surface is processed, leaving a stiffness holding portion at a bottom-most portion of the division block. The division block is then turned over and the rear surface is processed, removing the stiffness holding portion. The stiffness holding portion has sufficient thickness to secure stiffness of portions surrounding a through portion, enabling withstanding of a cutting force applied to the rear surface when the division block is turned over and the rear surface processed. Thus, a deviation in position of the tool during processing of the through hole on the rear surface from that of processing of the through hole on the front surface is suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5005810
Abstract: A fluid-filled cushioning device having a cylindrical elastic body mounted on an inner sleeve and having an orifice structure with an orifice formed therethrough is disclosed. A pair of annular elastic members each having a retainer member and an outer sleeve are mounted on the inner sleeve such that the retainer member is press-fitted in the axial end portion of the inner sleeve while the orifice structure is sandwiched between the axial end faces of the outer sleeves, in the axial direction. A bracket is mounted on the outer sleeves of the elastic members and is fixed to a support member, so that the bracket forces the outer sleeves against the orifice structure. The inner sleeve, elastic body and elastic members define two fluid-filled chambers which are separated from each other by the elastic body and which communicate with each other through the orifice.

  • Patent number: 4936556
Abstract: A liquid-sealed body mount comprising an inner and an outer cylinders concentrically disposed, a first and a second rubber members provided mutually in axially spaced relation and connecting both cylinders therebetween, an intermediate rubber plate means partitioning axially an enclosure surrounded by both cylinders and both rubber members into a first and a second liquid chambers, an orifice for communication with both chambers apertured in the intermediate means, and a liquid filled in both chambers. The intermediate rubber plate means is configured, when assembled, so as to be preliminarily deformed in the shearing direction, assuming a shade-like form and, when imposed with a prescribed load, so as to retain a neutral state of intersecting orthogonally both cylinders, whereby equalized vibration-preventing characteristics against oscillations on both bound and rebound sides are achieved.

  • Patent number: 4844430
Abstract: A fluid-filled elastic cushioning device for elastically connecting a first and a second member, including an inner sleeve attached to the first member, an elastic body fitted on the inner sleeve and having two pockets which are open in opposite axial end faces of the elastic body, two closure members for closing the open ends of the pockets to thereby form two fluid chambers, an orifice member embedded in the elastic body and having an orifice communicating with the fluid chambers, and a mounting plate secured to the orifice member. At least one of opposite ends of the orifice is open at a bottom of the corresponding at least one of the pockets, and at least one stopper rubber block is secured to each of at least one of the closure members which closes the corresponding at least one of the pockets. Each rubber block extends into the corresponding one of the fluid chambers such that a free end of each rubber block is normally spaced apart from the corresponding open end of the orifice.

  • Patent number: 4714368
Abstract: A bush with a sliding surface comprising a socket, a ball-integral shaft having shaft portions on both sides of a ball portion, a bearing body location between the socket and the ball-integral shaft, and a cushion having recesses in at least one axial end portions thereof constructed of polyurethane resins or polyester resins. Excellent absorption of manufacturing tolerances of parts of the bush and easy adjustment of rotational torque of the bush in normal operating conditions are obtained through use of the bush of the present invention. Additionally, the bush can show excellent load bearing characteristics even when the bush receives large loads beyond normal operating loads. Further, the durability of the bush is improved.
