  • Patent number: 4592316
Abstract: An air funnel assembly extending between an air inlet assembly and one or more carburetors on a two-wheeled vehicle. The air funnel assembly includes an elastic air funnel and an air funnel cover. The funnel and funnel cover are affixed to the carburetor or carburetors and extend in spaced relation towards the air inlet assembly. The components may be fixed to the carburetors by means of one or more clamp rings, may be additionally joined together by projections from the elastic funnel which are retained in holes in the rigid cover. A radially interlocking arrangement may be employed at the inlet from the air inlet assembly to retain the funnel thereto.

  • Patent number: 4556119
Abstract: A motorcycle frame and suspension system employing a backbone frame member extending rearwardly over an engine and then downwardly where it is associated with an inverted U-shaped center frame. Two pivot mechanisms for a rear fork are positioned in line with the ends of the inverted U-shape center frame and a cushion member is located therebetween. The cushion member is linked at its first end with the middle of the center frame and at its second end to a linkage mechanism fixed to move with the upward pivotal motion of the rear fork. The mechanism is so proportioned as to provide an increasing rate of upward motion to the cushion member as the rear fork moves upwardly. The two pivot mechanisms are not identical, one allowing axial sliding movement and the other not allowing such movement.

  • Patent number: 4485884
Abstract: A motorcycle is provided with an easily assembleable rear fender and cowling structure allowing front and rear parts of the fender to be secured together with the cowling fixed to an upper part of the front fender by locking surfaces. The construction reduces the number of parts of the assembly and permits better production efficiency, while utilizing the dead space formed as a storage compartment behind the motorcycle seat.
