  • Patent number: 5514517
Abstract: A process for image formation by silver salt diffusion transfer which comprises developing an imagewise exposed photosensitive element containing a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer with an alkaline processing element containing a silver halide solvent to thereby convert at least part of the silver halide present in the unexposed area of the emulsion layer into a transferable silver complex and then transferring at least part of the silver complex to an image-receiving element containing an image-receiving layer containing silver-precipitating nuclei to thereby form an image on the image-receiving element, said silver halide emulsion contained in the silver halide emulsion layer in the photosensitive element being a tabular grain emulsion which is obtained by chemically sensitizing tabular silver halide grains and depositing a silver iodobromide having a silver iodide content of from 2 to 15 mol % on the surface of the resulting grains in an amount of from 3 to 20 mol % and which has a total average

  • Patent number: 5326668
Abstract: A method of image formation disclosed, which comprises a method of image formation comprising developing a photosensitive element comprising an image-wise exposed photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer using an alkaline processing element containing a silver halide solvent to convert at least a part of the unexposed silver halide in the emulsion layer to a transferrable silver complex salt, and transferring at least a portion of the silver complex salt onto an image-receiving element comprising an image-receiving layer containing silver precipitation nuclei to form an image in the image-receiving element, wherein the silver halide grain in the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer comprises silver iodobromide or silver chloroiodobromide having a silver iodide content of from 0.5 to 3.5 mol %; and wherein silver bromide or silver iodobromide is formed after chemical sensitization on the surface of the grains in an amount of from 3 to 20% in terms of silver.

  • Patent number: 5206115
Abstract: A film unit for use in a silver salt diffusion transfer image-forming process is disclosed. The film unit includes a light-sensitive element, an alkaline treating element, and an image-receiving element. The light-sensitive element includes a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion which contains silver bromoiodide or silver bromoiodochloride having a silver iodide content of 0.5 to 3.5 mol %, wherein silver bromoiodide having a silver iodide content of 1 to 5 mol % is formed on the surface of the silver halide grains in an amount of from 3 to 10% on a silver basis after completion of chemical sensitization. The alkaline treating element contains a water-soluble iodide in an amount of from 0.3 to 3.0 mM/l and tetrahydrophyrimidinethione in an amount of from 0.3 to 3.0 mM/l. The film unit allows rapid completion of transfer images without loss of photographing sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 5124244
Abstract: Disclosed is a silver halide color photographic material comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support. The silver halide emulsion contains silver chlorobromide grains having a 2 to 4 layer stacked structure which layers differ in their content of silver chloride. The silver chloride distribution of each layer of the grains is completely uniform, and the difference in the silver chloride content between a first layer and a second layer of said grains ranges from 5 mole % to 27 mol %.
