  • Patent number: 8177912
Abstract: An evaporation source having a nozzle structure that makes the distribution of film thickness uniform in the width direction of a substrate and a vacuum evaporator using the same are provided. A vapor produced by evaporation or sublimation by heating to evaporation material is discharged from a long nozzle opening like a band. A deposited substrate is transferred in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the nozzle opening while facing the nozzle opening. A discharge flow rate of vapor per unit area in the longitudinal direction of the nozzle opening is made to be maximum in a portion at a nozzle width direction position corresponding to a substrate edge position rather than a central part of the nozzle opening and a plurality of partition plates providing directivity to the flow of vapor are arranged inside the nozzle opening.

  • Patent number: 7596066
Abstract: An optical disc apparatus allows an optical pickup to seek to a physical address 30000Hex, and controls high-speed CLV of a spindle motor to be 1.04-multiple speed of CLV so as to set rotational speed of the spindle motor at 1440 rpm, before reproducing information from NBCA. The optical disc apparatus acquires spindle output for the spindle motor during the CLV control, and calculates an average value of the acquired spindle output, and further stores the calculated average value. When reproducing the information of NBCA, the optical disc apparatus controls the spindle output to be the average value of the spindle output so as to control the rotational speed of the spindle motor at 1440 rpm. This makes it possible for the optical disc apparatus to reproduce the information of NBCA without using an FG.

  • Patent number: 7315498
Abstract: A DVD reproducing apparatus includes a pickup to read data from a disk having a pit data area to form pits along tracks and an NBCA to read data by laser cutting in a radial direction, a tracking error signal generator to generate a tracking error signal, an RF signal generator to process a signal output from the pickup to generate an RF signal, an NBCA data demodulator to employ the RF signal to demodulate data recorded in the NBCA, a jump controller to permit the pickup to jump over the tracks based on the tracking error signal, and a sled motor to move the pickup in the radial direction. Preferably, the jump controller applies a predetermined voltage to the sled motor, sets a time length to apply the predetermined voltage, and moves the pickup from the NBCA to the pit data area by single driving of the sled motor.

  • Patent number: 7224659
Abstract: An RF signal that is a disk reproduction signal is binarized through an equalizer and a slicer, followed by data demodulation, and an error rate of the reproduction signal is detected in an error detection circuit. If the error rate in the error detection circuit is higher than a prescribed value, a slice balance adjustment circuit performs slice balance adjustment for the slicer and a boost adjustment circuit performs boost adjustment for the equalizer.

  • Patent number: 7215613
Abstract: Without waiting for the rotational speed of an optical disk reaches a rotational speed (Vb) for a reproduction process, a cutoff frequency (Fca) of an RF signal and a boost amount (Bt) for an equalizer circuit are detected, and, with using the rotational speed (Va) of the optical disk at this detection, the cutoff frequency (Fc) by which jitter of the RF signal is optimized when the optical disk is rotated at the rotational speed (Vb) for the reproduction process is calculated by the equation of Fc=Fca+k(Vb?Va), and then set. Therefore, the time between the timing when the user conducts an input operation for starting reproduction, and that when reproduction is actually started can be shortened, and the usability can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20070091750
Abstract: An optical disk device includes an optical pickup which irradiates laser light upon an optical disk including CAPAs and detects the reflected light, and a spindle motor which rotates the optical disk. Furthermore, the optical disk device includes a CAPA signal generation means which, from the reflected light detected by the optical pickup, generates a CAPA signal, which is a signal including the CAPA, and a rotation control means which acquires, from the CAPA signal generated by the CAPA signal generation means, interval information which indicates the interval at which the CAPA is detected, and address information for the sectors upon the optical disk. And, based upon the interval information and the address information, the rotation control means drives the spindle motor so that the rotational speed or the linear speed of the optical disk becomes equal to a target value.

  • Patent number: 7200089
Abstract: A disk is placed into a disk drive device to be held therein. Then, a laser pickup is moved to the inner edge of the disk in step S1, various servos are automatically adjusted in step S2, TOC information of the disk is read in step S3, and a DBAL adjustment is performed in step S4. Here, the DBAL adjustment refers to an adjustment of a balance of a slice value for data. It is then determined whether or not the disk is recorded with information in multisession in step S5. If the disk is recorded in multisession, the DBAL adjustment for the session proceeds to a DBAL adjustment for a subsequent session in step S7. In other words, if the disk is a multisession disk, the DBAL adjustment is performed for each session.

  • Publication number: 20020167802
Abstract: Either one of a high capacity memory 11 and a low capacity memory 12 is placed on a printed circuit board 1. A region where the high capacity memory 11 is placed and another region where the low capacity memory 12 is placed partially overlap each other in the printed circuit board 1. Accordingly, when one of the high capacity memory 11 and the low capacity memory 12 is placed on the printed circuit board 1, the size of wasteful region which is not used for placing the other of the high capacity memory 11 and the low capacity memory 12 can be suppressed. Accordingly, the miniaturization and cost reduction of the printed circuit board 1 can be realized.
