  • Publication number: 20210296774
Abstract: This document describes an integrated cellular and ultra-wideband antenna system for a mobile electronic device. The cellular and ultra-wideband antenna are located in close proximity to one another, along with a circuit designed to enhance isolation between the two antennas. The circuit is also designed to enhance the efficiency of the cellular antenna by permitting the ultra-wideband antenna to generate an additional resonance in the cellular band. The integrated cellular antenna and ultra-wideband antenna results in reduced mutual coupling and performance degradation of the antennas, and the cellular antenna may gain enhanced bandwidth and efficiency.

  • Patent number: 9241050
Abstract: A mobile communication device is provided that uses an accelerometer to sense when the mobile communication device is dropped and impacts a hard surface, such as a floor or table, with a force hard enough to bend or deform an external metal antenna. Once such an impact is detected by the mobile communication device, the mobile communication device is further configured to determine whether an antenna has become detuned from its respective transceiver and then retune the antenna prior to the user picking up the dropped mobile communication device.
