Publication number: 20230263427Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for collecting part of an exhaled breath. The apparatus comprises a chamber comprising an internal surface defining a sample collection volume that has been functionalised to not interact chemically or physically with volatile components in the breath, an inlet end and outlet end through which the breath respectively enters and exits the sample collection volume. The apparatus also includes two closures, one at each of the inlet end and the outlet end to control passage of the breath through the respective inlet end or outlet end, the closures being actuated to capture the part of the exhaled breath, and a sampling port accessible from outside the chamber and in communication with the sample collection volume. The chamber is further tapered in its diameter toward each of the inlet end and outlet end to maintain laminar flow through the chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2021Publication date: August 24, 2023Inventors: Gokula Krishnan RAMACHANDRAN, Chen Hua YEOW

Patent number: 11518543Abstract: There are described methods and systems for supplying water to an aircraft. A water supply assembly is fluidly coupled to a water storage tank via a supply line. An overflow line is fluidly coupled to the water supply assembly. One or more sensors are configured to determine an amount of water in the water storage tank. One or more processors are communicative with the one or more sensors and configured to: determine a desired amount of water to be contained in the water storage tank; determine from the one or more sensors that an amount of water in the water storage tank corresponds to the desired amount of water; and, in response to determining that the amount of water in the water storage tank corresponds to the desired amount of water, transmit an instruction for causing water being supplied from the water supply assembly to the water storage tank to be diverted to the overflow line.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2020Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Inventors: Steven Leonard Bis, Krishnan Ramachandran

Method and apparatus for enabling collaberative interactions among devices on a peer-to-peer network
Patent number: 9137355Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for collaboratively communications among device are provided in which a communications device is operable to receive a message from a peer device in the communications environment which indicates that an event associated with the peer device has occurred. Further, based on reception of the message, the device may be operable to change at least one of functionality from a normal operating state to a modified operating state. Similarly, a device may be operable to receive a message indicating various functionalities active on a peer device. When the device detects occurrence of an event, it may determine whether any of the various functionalities associated with the peer device may be affected. Where any of the functionalities are affected, the device may generate a message for the peer device associated with the affected functionality and may transmit the message to the peer device.Type: GrantFiled: January 1, 2013Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventor: Krishnan Ramachandran -
Publication number: 20140259189Abstract: Techniques are provided for counteracting bias in reviews by authenticating and/or weighing the reviews based on the user-specific context. For instance, the reviews may be authenticated based on the user's location and the relative position of the user with respect to other users. For example, a number of users sitting at a movie theater in an arc shape for an extended period of time may indicate that the users are watching a movie at the movie theater. Techniques described herein may provide the users with an interface to provide a review for the movie theater as the users break the arc formation indicating completion of the movie. In another example, reviews of content such as media clips, using a device, may also be authenticated and/or weighed based on the user-specific context. The user-specific context, such as the lighting conditions, the time of day of the review, etc.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2013Publication date: September 11, 2014Applicant: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventor: Krishnan RAMACHANDRAN
