  • Patent number: 11991850
Abstract: Securing a riser cage and/or electronic components coupled thereto within an information handling system can be accomplished using a riser cage apparatus. The riser cage may be configured to removably secure the electronic components to a surface of the information handling system using one or more fasteners configured to couple the riser cage to a surface of a chassis. The one or more fasteners may comprise a protrusion configured to engage a pin coupled to the surface. The protrusion of the one or more fasteners may be movable relative to the riser cage between a first locked position in which the pin coupled to the surface is engaged by the protrusion and a second unlocked position in which the pin coupled to the surface is not engaged by the protrusion.

  • Patent number: 6492968
Abstract: A method for detecting defects when mixed colors among color channels on a liquid crystal monitor is disclosed. The disclosed method utilizes the interference of four channels of red, green, blue and white colors to check whether a detected liquid crystal monitor can normally show the mixed colors. A rectangular channel drawing is shown on a liquid crystal monitor; wherein the most upper left point, the most upper right point, the most lower left point, and the most lower right point are respectively allocated by red, green, blue, and white pixels. Each color channel then extends separately along the diagonal direction and accompanied with color intensity gradually decreasing to obtain an interference diagram that contains several arc stripes on the rectangular drawing. Accordingly, those defective pixels will be clearly indicated in the rectangular channel drawing because they are usually flashing visually.

  • Patent number: 6470491
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for monitoring an executed process, more particularly for monitoring and tracing the execution of an application program on a window-based operating platform. The method of the present invention is first to collect the information of all executed processes, and then to build up a history table of all processes for finding out the main process of the execution of the application program. Next, according to the processes' handles saved in the history table, the monitoring method is to extract all sub-processes of the main process and construct the relation of all processes of the execution of the application program. Finally, hierarchically trace and monitor all executed processes of the application program.

  • Patent number: 6453413
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for pre-installing software program. First create a configuration file according to the demand of software programs in each destination disk drive. Then the server of a local area network creates an operating system image file and an application file package. The files are sent to the local area network station to pre-install the software. Using the method, the pre-installation of software program can be realized. Also, the user may select the programs freely without partitioning and formatting the hard disk. At the same time, the installation of software can be done in a large number of new machines automatically.

  • Publication number: 20020129350
Abstract: Installation of software is forwarded by an automatic method in a Hand Personal Computer in the production line. The method includes defining setup executive files to store files and paths, which need to be copied. According to the defined data in the executive setup file, they are filled on a filelist. In the end, based on the filelist information, need-to-install software programs are copied into Hand Personal Computers.

  • Patent number: 6427233
Abstract: A method for addressing the dynamic windows. The method uses a script interpreter, addressing identification module, and current windows layer description module combined together. When an operational unit is read from a script interpreter, it will generate a windows description. Input said windows description into a addressing identification module and hook the windows description by a current windows layer description module at the same time. The current windows layer description module will construct a windows description tree structure and the addressing identification module will calculate according to this tree structure. Complete the calculation and conclude a current windows identifier code to be operated by the tester.

  • Patent number: 6233105
Abstract: A method for quickly formatting a disk is disclosed. It can save lots of time when a disk or a disk partition is formatted. The technique of this invention redirects the interrupt instruction of the BIOS to get the disk (or disk partition) information which includes the sector number, starting location and type thereof. According to the disk (or disk partition) type (FAT 16 or FAT 32), the section number of the file allocation table (FAT) is rearrange by a logical operation unit. Then write the boot record to the mapped location and clear the FAT and file directory to zero to accomplish disk formatting procedure.
