    Abstract: A light source system includes a light unit, a control unit, a light detector and a determining unit. In this case, the control unit is used to drive the light unit. The light detector is for detecting the brightness of the light unit, and generates a brightness detection signal based on the brightness of the light unit. The determining unit receives the brightness detection signal so as to determine whether the brightness of the light unit is equal to a predetermined value or not. When the brightness of the light unit is not equal to the predetermined value, the determining device then outputs a control signal to the control unit. The control unit generates an adjustment signal based on the control signal so as to adjust the brightness of the light unit.

    Abstract: A planar fluorescent lamp having a first panel, a second panel, a glass rim, a venting tube, and a set of electrodes. Fluorescent layers are formed on both the first panel and the second panel. The glass rim is mounted on edges of the first and second panels. A recess and a gap are formed in the glass rim; the recess is used for placing the electrodes while the gap is reserved for installing the venting tube. The first panel, the second panel, and the glass rim are so arranged so that a cavity is formed thereby. The cavity is vacuumed via the venting tube and mercury vapor and inert gas are then introduced into the cavity.

    Abstract: A cold cathode fluorescent flat lamp comprising a first plate, a second plate, a fluorescent substance, a discharge gas and a plurality of electrodes is provided. The first plate has a plurality of grooves. The second plate is disposed on the first plate on which the grooves form airtight chambers. The fluorescent substance is disposed on the inner wall of the airtight chambers; the discharge gas is disposed in the airtight chambers; and the electrodes are disposed on both sides of various airtight chambers. Therefore, by disposing the grooves on the inner surface of the first plate, the second plate can dispose on the first plate directly. Furthermore, the second plate disposing on the first plate directly can enhance the strength of the cold cathode fluorescent flat lamp without using rods and spacers.

    Abstract: A planar fluorescent lamp equipped with a pair of flat electrodes and a method for fabricating such lamp are disclosed. In the planar fluorescent lamp, a lamp housing and a cover plate which are both formed of a soda-lime glass can be bonded together to form a vacuum tight seal by glass frit. A pair of flat electrodes and a pair of getter strips are pre-mounted in the cavity of the planar lamp. The pair of flat electrodes run substantially the full width of the interior cavity of the lamp such that a substantially uniform electric discharge field can be formed in the cavity when a RF power is supplied to the electrodes. A bottom panel of the lamp housing may be fabricated in a ribbed structure to improve the rigidity of the bottom panel such that it does not bow in when the cavity is sealed under a vacuum pressure.

    Abstract: A compact fluorescent lamp for illumination which is constructed by planar glass plates formed of a low cost sodium glass material and assembled together by a sealing glass adhesive, or a glass frit, such that a low cost compact fluorescent lamp that has maximum electrical discharge path can be fabricated in mass production. The compact flourescent lamp has a chamber cavity that is divided into a plurality of sub-chambers by interior partitions each having an aperture therethrough for allowing a discharge to go through into a neighboring sub-chamber. The placement of the aperture is such that a maximum discharge path, or a maximum arc path can be achieved while maintaining the total volume of the compact lamp at a minimum. The use of flat glass plates made of a low cost sodium glass material enables a low cost manufacturing of the present invention novel lamp.

The integrated metallic housing is composed of a base plate and a plurality of upright pieces bent upward at a right angle to the base plate, and having height close to the thickness of CCFFL. Furthermore, the plurality of metallic housing portions is formed by a plurality of base plate areas, adjacent to one another, cut from the base plate of the integrated metallic housing.

    Abstract: A planar color lamp powered by field emission nanotube emitters and a method for fabricating such lamp are provided. The planar color lamp is constructed with a lamp chamber having at least three spaced-apart, serpentine-shaped emitter stacks formed on a base plate, and at least three spaced-apart, serpentine-shaped fluorescent coating strips formed on a cover plate wherein each of the fluorescent coating strips emits a primary color of red, green or blue when activated by electrons emitted from the nanotube emitter stacks. The nanotube emitter stacks can be advantageously formed by a low cost, thick film printing technique with a material of a mixture of a polymeric binder and nanometer dimensioned hollow fibers such as carbon, diamond or diamond-like carbon material. The present invention planar field emission color lamp provides the advantages of a backlight and color filters into a single compact package that can be fabricated at low cost.

    Abstract: A color fluorescent lamp, having at least a closed cavity filled with an inert gas, at least two fluorescent layers coated on an interior wall of the cavity, and a set of electrodes. A high voltage is applied to the set of electrodes, so that the noble gas electrons are induced inside of the cavity, which then emits an ultra-violet light.
