  • Publication number: 20170022641
Abstract: A flexible ribbon is folded over itself to form a pair of end ribbon portions at opposite sides of a middle ribbon portion. Each ribbon portion has ribbon apertures. A stiff support is mounted on the middle ribbon portion and has support apertures that overlie the ribbon apertures in the middle ribbon portion. A drawstring is routed freely through the support apertures and the ribbon apertures, and pulled to move the middle ribbon portion from a flat state in which the ribbon portions lie in a common plane, to a curled state in which the middle ribbon portion is folded over and contacts the end ribbon portions to form a loop bounding an open presentation area. An adornment is mounted on the support in the open presentation area, and is visible through the open presentation area in the curled state.

  • Patent number: 7014080
Abstract: A bow-forming ribbon assembly has a decorative flexible ribbon member and a drawstring connected loosely to the ribbon at points along its length by relatively stiff retainer members. Each retainer member extends generally transversely across the ribbon member, and each is inclined with respect to the transverse direction at an angle. Each retainer member is inclined at an angle different from that of an adjacent retainer member. Decorative arms having adornments are mounted adjacent at least some of the retainer members. On forming the ribbon into a bow by pulling the drawstring relative to the ribbon member, the inclined retainer members tend to skew the adjacent loops or segments of the bow relative to one another, as well as the decorative arms so that the loops and the arms are distributed at various angles around the axis of the bow, thereby providing a bow of great visual interest.

  • Patent number: 5693386
Abstract: A decorative gift article includes at least one, but preferably more than one, gift item, and a support of a predetermined countenance that is to be used for presenting the gift item or items. A retaining frame secured to the support serves to retain the gift items at a top face of the support so as to be at least partly visible. The retaining frame has at least one mounting portion secured to the support and a loop-shaped portion integral with the mounting portion and delimiting an opening for the passage of the gift item therethrough. The opening has at least one dimension smaller than a corresponding dimension of the gift item and the loop-shaped portion is capable of yielding out of the path of movement of the gift item during intentional withdrawal of the latter through the opening.

  • Patent number: 5683769
Abstract: A decorative gift article includes a plurality of gift items and a support of a predetermined countenance that is used for presenting the gift items. A pouch accommodates the gift items and is connected to a bottom side of the support. An elongated element, especially a relatively narrow decorative ribbon, having a central portion secured to the bottom side of the support and two free end portions of substantially equal length integral with the central portion is used for establishing the connection between the pouch and the support in that its end portions are tied in a knot about a substantially central portion of the pouch. The gift items fill the pouch less then completely so that the tying of the free end portions of the elongated element around the central portion of the pouch results in the formation of a constriction at such location.
