    Abstract: The passage of a scupper drain is normally maintained in a closed position by a pair of spring-biased semi-circular pivotal flaps which are mounted within a housing provided with an associated cap, thus permitting the flaps to only pivot downwardly for opening the drain to water discharge and preventing vermin from leaving the drain when the flaps are disposed in the closed position.
