Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that gather database event information that may be used by a debugger to pinpoint problems in applications that lead to inefficiencies in the database. For example, a database system may gather application-specific information from an application execution stack to include in the event log file. The application-specific information provides details as to what portion of the application resulted in the database event. The database event information may then be provided to another application or a user via a user interface.

Abstract: A data management system is provided with a database which has internal tanks for storing large object data according to the size of the data involved. An analysis method and system is provided which will search out and calculate the space of each of the tank files involved and will report on how the space of each tank file is being used in terms of existing large objects, in terms of unused and available space, and in terms of deleted large object spaces.

Abstract: A method for creating multiple QUIESCE DATABASE Copies (QDC) on a single server by mirroring a disk copy of a live database that is in a quiesced state and splitting them from their source, and then bringing the mirrored disks containing online snapshots back online to the server.

The method includes the steps of performing a security verification and check to receive server software version. The program then retrieves database creation timestamp and database version, and then returns this information to the client. Finally, the program returns the information about the various software version levels that are residing in multiple databases.

Abstract: A method for providing a program which executes a sequence for handling a suspended task. The method includes the steps of performing a security check on a mainframe server. The program then detects a response from the suspended task, and then monitors and handles the response. Finally, the program re-activates the suspended task with the response.
