  • Patent number: 6139685
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for treating a pulp suspension in which the suspension is rotated in a rotationally symmetrical, rapidly rotating and permeable screen basket so that the suspension is subjected to the influence of a centrifugal force and dewatered at the same time as the suspension is conveyed by a rotating screw along the inner wall of the screen basket. The invention is characterized in that the suspension is caused to rotate by means which are arranged at the entrance to the screen basket, and in that the outer edges of the said screw bear against or are immediately adjacent to the screen basket and rotate at a higher speed than does the screen basket so that the screw scrapes the inner wall of the screen basket.

  • Patent number: 5959368
Abstract: In a power supply apparatus including a plurality of batteries and a plurality of power supply portions for connecting to loads, a plurality of switches connect these batteries to these power supply portions, respectively. The apparatus further includes a control mechanism which controls the opening and closing operations of the switches. When one of the switches is turned on in one of the power supply means, the control mechanism executes the control in such a manner that the other switches are turned off. The control mechanism further controls each of the switches on the basis of the remaining capacity of each battery and the load state of each power supply portion. Accordingly, the power supply operation can be flexibly carried out.

  • Patent number: 5729288
Abstract: An electronic image pickup apparatus comprising a focal plane shutter for controlling reception or cut-off of the light from an object, a CMD, image pickup device as a MOS-type internal amplification sensor, RGB channel process circuits for processing RGB outputs from the CMD, and a system controller for controlling the entire apparatus. The focal plane shutter lets in the light from the object to photograph for exposure. The resulting image data is temporarily stored in a memory. With no light from the object projected onto the CMD, a dark exposure is performed for the same time as the exposure to extract a signal corresponding to dark current. Reading the image data from the memory and reading the data at the dark exposure are performed at the same time. The dark current component is removed by subtracting the dark exposure data from the image data.
