  • Patent number: 5550999
Abstract: This invention provides an information processing system for a secondary storage medium which can prevent illegitimate reproduction of secondary storage media such as CD-ROMs by allowing only a secondary storage medium in a prescribed relation with a case therefor to be used. A first name data is stored in a secondary storage medium such as a CD-ROM beforehand, while a second name data with a relation with the first name data of the secondary storage medium as well as a name address therefor are stored in a ROM provided in a storage case. When a CPU is activated, it reads the first name data of the secondary storage medium according to the name address and a security element provided in the case compares the first name data with the second name data stored in the ROM.

  • Patent number: 5473595
Abstract: An information processing apparatus using an optical storage medium such as a CD-ROM processes optically stored data using different capability data processors having different processing speeds and/or operand bit-width processing. Picture data, program data, and audio data stored in the optical storage medium are accessed and written into a main semiconductor type RAM. Selective routing over various data buses to specific data processors permits a data processing task to be performed by the data processor best suited to perform that task in the most efficient and effective manner.

  • Patent number: 5074531
Abstract: Sealing apparatus of wind boxes at both the ore charge and discharge sides of a Dwight-Lloyd sintering machine provides a plurality of seal members disposed in series in close contact with the bottom surface of pallets of the sintering machine, and a seal chamber communicating with a space provided between these seal members. The seal members are rotatable rolls having seal plates projectingly installed radially on the outer periphery thereof, and may be rolls with these seal plates held in close contact with the bottom surface of the pallets and the inner surface of the seal chamber, or may be flat seal plates with their flat surface firmly pressed against the bottom surface of the pallets. In the seal chamber is mounted an independent exhaust fan for the removal of air, further improving sealing performance.

  • Patent number: 4976941
Abstract: A catalyst in the form of a honeycomb structured cordierite carrier having platinum supported in a loading weight of at least 0.20 mg per square centimeter of the apparent outer surface area of the catalyst is effective in a process for oxidizing CO in exhaust gas from a sintering furance wherein it maintains high CO oxidiation efficiency for a longer period of time, requiring less frequently regeneration and less power consumption.

  • Patent number: 4922420
Abstract: A game software service system is connected to a monitor to display an image for game. A CPU and a PPU which cooperates with the CPU are accommodated within a housing. A plurality of storage mediums which respectively store game programs are attached to the housing in an attachable/detachable manner. The respective storage mediums are commonly connected to an address bus and a data bus of the CPU and the PPU, and assigned with a common address space. A first controller is used for playing a game. Any one of the storage mediums is selected by operation of a second controller. When a menu showing a plurality of game names is displayed on the monitor, accesses from the CPU and the PPU to a selected storage medium are enabled in response to the operation of the second controller. The CPU and the PPU execute a program of the selected storage medium to display the image for game on the monitor.

  • Patent number: 4547146
Abstract: This improved ignition device for a moving grate type sintering machine is an inexpensive, compact combustion device which can form a strip of flame extending uniformly and continuously over the width of the strand. This ignition device can provide a uniform ignition intensity, and the ignition conditions of the raw mix can be controlled optimally by moving the burner and a hood therefor vertically and/or rotatably in accordance with the operational conditions of the sintering process. The ignition device thus contributes to prevent the sintered ore from being unevenly sintered, and to save heating energy.
