  • Patent number: 7949258
Abstract: It is possible to realize remote control in a reflection wave transmission system, and enhance operability for a mobile apparatus having a reflector. The mobile apparatus comprises a reflector and performs reflection wave transmission by carrying data on a reflection wave for unmodulated carrier. A reflection wave reader comprises an infrared light receiving section, receives and decodes a request signal sent as an infrared remote control command, transmits it to the mobile apparatus by an ASK modulated signal and then transmits the unmodulated carrier. The mobile apparatus transmits requested data by reflection wave. The mobile apparatus can be operated from an infrared remote controller and remote control distance can be extended.

  • Publication number: 20110038428
Abstract: Provided is an encoding apparatus including an encoding unit that generates encoded data formed from a sequence of base-k data in which m pieces (m<n) of base-k symbols are combined, by converting input binary data in units of n bits based on a specific conversion rule that associates n-bit binary data and the base-k data. In case a DC balance of the base-k data obtained after conversion has a polarity, the encoding unit controls a polarity of a symbol included in the base-k data obtained after conversion such that the polarity of the DC balance of the base-k data obtained after conversion is different from a polarity of a DC balance of a sequence of base-k data previous to the base-k data obtained after conversion.

  • Publication number: 20100254379
Abstract: Network connection of a terminal such as a mobile apparatus can be implemented at a transmission speed higher than that by a radio LAN. A connection method between a terminal and a connection apparatus is configured by replacing a radio LAN with electromechanical coupling, and transmission between the terminal and the connection apparatus is carried out using a baseband as it is without up conversion into a radio frequency band. This eliminates a bottleneck by the throughput of the radio LAN and eliminates the problems of the cost and the power consumption which arise from up conversion of a transmission signal. Further, bridging of data can be carried out by simple code conversion, and since the apparatus configuration is simplified, the cost can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 7796016
Abstract: A radio communication system performs data communication by a backscatter system using absorption and reflection of a received radio wave. In the system, a data reading device transmits an unmodulated carrier of frequency fO; a data transmitting device subjects transmission data to primary modulation using a center frequency fS to obtain a primary modulated signal, and subjects the primary modulated signal to secondary modulation by multiplying the primary modulated signal by an input of the unmodulated carrier of the backscatter system to generate a reflected modulated wave in which one of frequencies fO+fS and fO?fS is suppressed; and the data reading device receives the reflected modulated wave from the data transmitting device.

  • Patent number: 7769867
Abstract: A communication system in which data stored in a memory card mounted in a host apparatus, such as a digital camera, can be sent to an external apparatus with ease without relying on operations carried out on the host apparatus. The memory card includes a communication control section controllable by the external apparatus so that data can be read out from a memory of the memory card and sent to the external apparatus in accordance with control executed by the external apparatus. Even if the host apparatus is a mobile apparatus such as a digital camera, picture data stored by the digital camera in the memory card can be sent to the external apparatus by wireless communication without the need to change the digital camera serving as the mobile apparatus specially by, for example, installing driver software. That is to say, the memory card can be applied to contemporary digital cameras.
