  • Patent number: 5263228
Abstract: In a sliver piecing operation by an apparatus for continuously supplying slivers mechanically to a roving frame, wherein a plurality of aligned sliver cans are arranged along the longitudinal direction of the roving frames in a taper arrangement with regard to the volume of sliver contained therein. Full packaged sliver cans are aligned at a standby position adjacent to and facing the aligned sliver cans which contain the smallest volume of sliver therein, and when the above-mentioned sliver cans having the smallest volume of sliver reach an almost exhausted condition, a unit sliver piecing operation of piecing a leading end portion of sliver from one of each of the full packaged sliver cans with a trailing end portion of each sliver supplied to the roving frame, created by separating same from each sliver supplying can facing thereto, is carried out in steps at all of the above-mentioned full packaged sliver cans.

  • Patent number: 4821504
Abstract: A system for controlling the displacement motion of a carriage working machine which is capable of displacing along a track arranged along ends of spinning machines installed in parallel as a group, wherein an automatic apparatus for carrying out a certain part of the process by these spinning machines is rigidly or detachably mounted on a carriage. In this system, when a spinning machine outputs a forecast signal to call the working machine, the forecast signal is registered in a registration table. After the working machine has arrived at a position on the track adjacent to the particular spinning machine, and it is confirmed that the particular spinning machine can accept the operation of the automatic apparatus of the working machine, then the automatic apparatus starts to carry out its operation.

  • Patent number: 4723405
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spindle for a spinning frame or a twisting frame by which a tail yarn is formed on a full bobbin and is taken out from the full bobbin at a cop changing operation and is assuredly held on the spindle. In the spindle of the present invention, a band-like yarn-hanging member is arranged on the peripheral face of an intermediate part of a bobbin-attaching portion of the spindle and the band-like yarn-hanging member catches and holds the yarn wound in the form of a loop attached to the spindle at the cop changing operation.

  • Patent number: 4473997
Abstract: A method and apparatus for switching the relative position between roving bobbins held by bobbin hangers of a front row and the roving bobbins held by the rear row in a spinning frame. The roving bobbin exchange operation is carried out as successive unit operations from one end-side of the spinning frame to the other end-side thereof. In each unit operation, first the axial distance between a bobbin hanger of the front row and a bobbin hanger of the rear row, which are positioned adjacently in the lengthwise direction of the spinning frame, is reduced to a predetermined distance, then the relative position of those two bobbin hangers is reversely changed while maintaining the reduced axial distance. Thereafter, the axial distance between those two bobbin hangers is returned to the initial condition for carrying out the spinning operation.
