  • Patent number: 5422075
Abstract: The present invention relates to a chemical luminescence-detecting apparatus that is provided with a plurality of optical detectors different in sensitivity in the vicinity of a photometric cell. A ratio of outputs from the optical detectors based on intensity of luminescence is previously determined and stored. Signal processing can multiply an output of a low sensitivity optical detector by a factor determined by the stored ratio to measure the intensity of luminescence so that a conversion value corresponding to an equivalent output from a high sensitivity optical detector may be obtained when the output from the high sensitivity optical detector has become saturated.

  • Patent number: 5188334
Abstract: An improved pinch valve assembly for opening and closing flexible tubular conduits is provided. A housing member is capable of supporting flexible tubular conduits and contains an engagement member that is capable of closing the passageways through the flexible tubular conduit. The engagement member can configure to receive a stop member that is capable of restraining the engagement member at a position which prohibits closing of a flexible tubular conduits during non-operative storage and transporting modes of operation.

  • Patent number: 5155329
Abstract: In a method for monitoring laser beam welding, a sequential signal representing a laser oscillating wave form is received, light of a predetermined wavelength in the light emitted from the weld zone is received, and the two signals thus received are processed to determine the minimum intensity of the light of the predetermined wavelength and thereby accurately deduce welding beam input and penetration of welding. An apparatus used in practicing the monitoring method includes a monitoring optical fiber for receiving and transmitting the light emitted from a weld being made on a workpiece, an interference filter for selectively passing light of a predetermined wavelength, and a processing device for determining an intensity of the light of the predetermined wavelength.

  • Patent number: 4935117
Abstract: A flow through type ion electrode apparatus including a number of interconnectable block structures. Each block structure includes recesses in respective faces thereof, which lead to a through hole extending between the faces. A membrane electrode is located within each block structure so as to communicate with the through hole. A spacer having a through hole therein is inserted in a recess of each of a pair of adjacent block structures to interconnect the adjacent block structures.

  • Patent number: 4627624
Abstract: A packing which includes a plurality of seal portions integrally formed on an annular elastic sheet. The seal portions are spaced about the circumference of the sheet and project from one side surface of the sheet. Each seal portion has a through hole extending entirely through the sheet parallel to the center axis of the sheet. In the preferred embodiment, the packing is used in a rotary change-over valve and each seal portion has an annular rib at its free end which is adapted to fit in a corresponding hole in a rotary valve inlet element with the packing held in a recess in the inlet element between the inlet element and a rotary valve outlet element.
