  • Publication number: 20180112344
Abstract: The present invention provides a washing machine capable of suppressing vibration and noise and capable of reducing a gap between a circumferential wall of an outer tub and a housing so as to reduce a useless space. The washing machine includes a box-shaped housing having an internal space opened upward; and a washing tub unit suspended and supported through a hanger bar in the internal space. The washing tub unit includes an outer tub presented in a bottomed quasi-cylindrical shape; an inner tub presented in a bottomed quasi-cylindrical shape, coaxially configured inside the outer tub and rotatably supported by the outer tub; and a driving mechanism arranged at a lower end of the outer tub and configured to drive the inner tub to rotate.

  • Patent number: 7111478
Abstract: An engaging groove part 25 is provided at the outer circumferential edge of a rotor 20b of an outer-rotor type motor directly connected to the main shaft 14 of a drum 13, and on the other hand, a drum locking device 21 is provided directly below the shaft. The drum locking device 21 is constructed so that a lock pin moves up and down in response to rotation of a torque motor, and when the lock pin advances and fits into the groove of the engaging groove pan 25, the position of the drum 13 is fixed. Thereby, the stopping position of the drum can be fixed with a simple construction.

  • Patent number: 7073356
Abstract: In a drum type washing machine, a drum 23 is mounted to rotate about a horizontal axis extending in the lateral direction in a tub 20. A tub opening 20b with a tub door 20a is formed in the tub 20 under the throw-in opening 3 formed in the front part of the top of the housing. A drum opening 23a with a drum door composed of a double door opening frontward and backward is formed in the peripheral wall of the drum 23. The drum 23 is stopped so that the drum opening 23b coincides with the tub opening 20b. The drum door 23a, forced into its opening direction, is held in a closed position by an engagement of a claw 43 and an engagement hole 53. When a user rotates a operation lever 63b for latching or unlatching the tub door 20, the drum door open/close mechanism 65 functions to make two rods 65a and 65b project or withdraw, whereby the drum door 23a is brought into an engaged or unengaged state. By this mechanism, the drum door 23a opens or closes with the opening or closing operation of the tub door 20a.

  • Patent number: 5893280
Abstract: By rotating a drum at a low speed, the laundry is redistributed so that the eccentric load due to the laundry comes at a position opposing a balancing chamber. Then, while the drum is rotated at a middle speed, a balancing-water supply valve is opened to supply water from a balancing-water nozzle into a water-guiding chamber provided on the back of the drum. The water supplied flows into the balancing chamber, thus increasing the weight of the balancing chamber. The water supply is continued until the magnitude of the eccentric load of the drum holding the laundry and the water becomes smaller than a predetermined value. After an adequate amount of water is supplied, the total eccentric load is so small that the abnormal vibration does not occur even when the drum is rotated at a high speed for extraction.

  • Patent number: 4733547
Abstract: A washing machine comprises an outer drum and an inner tub having water-expelling holes on its side wall. On the bottom of the inner tub, an agitator rotated intermittently by a motor is supported by means of bearings. An air trap is provided in communication with the gap between the outer and inner tubs. When the washing operation is started, the agitator is rotated and due to the pumping action of the agitator, the water level between the inner and outer tubs falls temporarily, which is detected by the pressure sensor connected to the air trap. The motor is deenergized according to the output from the pressure sensor and the agitator is stopped. Then the water level starts rising temporarily again thus the pressure sensor output is increased, which in turn energizes the motor and rotates the agitator. When such ON and OFF of the motor are repeated for more than the predetermined number of times, the washing operation will be completed.
