Patent number: 8393037Abstract: A three-axis acceleration sensor is mounted to a body of an electric toothbrush. A CPU detects the three-dimensional attitude of the body based on an output from the acceleration sensor and, based on the attitude of the toothbrush, estimates which portion is being brushed. Then, the CPU measures by using a timer a brushing time of the portion being brushed. Results of brushing for each portion are evaluated and outputted based on the measured brushing time.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2009Date of Patent: March 12, 2013Assignee: Omron Healthcare Co., Ltd.Inventors: Toshiyuki Iwahori, Akitoshi Miki, Kuniyoshi Takahashi

Patent number: 7066898Abstract: A vibrator has massaging balls supported by a treating unit that may be shifted along a subject portion for treatment, guided by guiding members. The treating unit is supported by a supporting structure with respect to the guiding members. A position or orientation altering mechanism is provided for altering the position of the treatment unit in a direction orthogonal to the direction of its shifting or the orientation of the treating unit with respect to the guiding members. The supporting structure may include an engaging unit that engages the guiding members and an arm for supporting the engaging unit.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 2002Date of Patent: June 27, 2006Assignee: OMRON CorporationInventors: Kentaro Mori, Akitoshi Miki, Koichi Tanaka, Kuniyoshi Takahashi

Patent number: 6431257Abstract: An air conditioning unit for a vehicle has a unit case enclosing a blower fan, a cooling heat exchanger (evaporator) and a heating heat exchanger (heater core), and defining therein an air conditioning passage for conveying air from the blower fan through the cooling heat exchanger and the heating heat exchanger, to an upper outlet opening. The air conditioning passage has an upstream passage section extending downward on a first side of the blower fan to convey the air from the blower fan downward, an intermediate passage section extending under the blower fan in a first direction from the first side to a second side of the blower fan, and a downstream passage section extending upward on the second side of the blower fan to the upper outlet opening for directing the air over the blower fan in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, from the second side toward the first side (toward the passenger compartment of the vehicle).Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2000Date of Patent: August 13, 2002Assignee: Calsonic Kansei CorporationInventors: Masahiro Sano, Katsuichiro Tajima, Masaharu Onda, Kuniyoshi Takahashi, Kaoru Kamiyama

Patent number: 5455498Abstract: An angle of rotation detector has a drive unit which supplies 90 degree phase shifted signals to a pair of stator coils and measures an analog output from a rotor coil in a resolver. A calculating device calculates the rotational angle of the resolver using the output of an analog to digital converter receiving the analog output of the rotor. In one embodiment, the calculating device performs a Fourier transform to compute the phase of a fixed frequency component contained in the output of the rotor coil. In another embodiment, the drive unit supplies signals wherein f(T/2+t)=-f(t) and the calculating device performs a Fourier transform using data from successive half periods of the drive waveform. In another embodiment, the output of the rotor is sampled at 1/4 period of an excitation signal from the drive unit and the calculating device determines the phase difference between the excitation signal and the rotor output.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1991Date of Patent: October 3, 1995Assignee: Omron CorporationInventors: Tatsumi Kakimoto, Takeshi Kubo, Kuniyoshi Takahashi, Akiyoshi Fujisaki, Teruya Nishina
