  • Patent number: 4822250
Abstract: An apparatus for transferring a small amount of fluid has at least one series of vibration pump units each having a fluid transfer pipe designed to perform a respirating action by the operation of a vibrator which vibrates in response to application of a high-frequency voltage. The fluid transfer pipes are connected in series via fluid diodes which serve to enable the fluid to flow only in one direction, while resisting reversing of the fluid, so that the fluid is transferred in one direction through the successive fluid transfer pipes. In order to minimize the pulsation of the fluid pressure at the downstream end of the apparatus, the vibrators of the pump unit are excited with predetermined phase differentials. Additional fluid diode is connected to the outlet end of the most downstream pump unit.

  • Patent number: 4808084
Abstract: An apparatus for transferring a small amount of fluid has at least three vibration pump units which are connected in series. Each vibration pump unit has a fluid transfer pipe, a vibrator mounted on the outer peripheral surface of the fluid transfer pipe and adapted to cause the transfer pipe to vibrate in a respiring manner, an inner peripheral electrode on the inner peripheral surface of the vibrator, an outer peripheral electrode on the outer peripheral surface of the vibrator, a high-frequency voltage applying device for applying a high-frequency voltage between the inner peripheral electrode and the outer peripheral electrode thereby causing the vibrator to vibrate in respiring manner, and a fluid diode exhibiting resistance to reversing of the fluid and connected to the fluid outlet of the fluid transfer pipe in such a manner as to permit the fluid to be discharged from the fluid pipe. The adjacent vibration pumps operate with a predetermined phase difference therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4498301
Abstract: A cooling device for a steam turbine wherein a portion of boiler feedwater for cooling a casing of the turbine is supplied, after being heated by high pressure feedwater heaters, to a cooling fluid passage for the casing as a cooling fluid satisfying the temperature and pressure conditions necessary for effecting cooling of the casing, by a booster pump and a regenerating heat exchanger. After cooling the casing, the cooling fluid is returned to a boiler feedwater system following a heat exchange with a cooling fluid for cooling the casing.

  • Patent number: 4208167
Abstract: In a blade lattice structure for an axial fluid machine including circumferentially arranged stationary blades and upper and lower side walls having the stationary blades secured thereto for defining therebetween a flow path which is arranged annularly, the stationary blades each have a cross sectional shape such that the thickness of each stationary blade gradually increases in going toward the upper side wall from an arbitrarily selected position on the blade in its height, so that the area of a throat for each section of the stationary blade is varied along the height thereof to thereby increase stage efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4146352
Abstract: A diaphragm for an axial flow fluid machine comprising inner and outer walls for defining an annular fluid flow passage therebetween, a blade lattice having a plurality of stationary blades disposed in the fluid flow passage, each of the blades having a concave side surface and a convex side surface, adjacent two stationary blades defining an inter-blade fluid flow path together with the inner and outer walls, a suction port open to a first portion of the fluid flow path adjacent to the concave side surface and the inner or outer wall to suck the fluid therefrom, a blowoff port open to blow off the fluid to a second portion of the fluid flow path adjacent to the inner or outer wall and at which the pressure is lower than that at the first portion, and a passageway for communicating between the suction port and the blowoff port, thereby reducing the secondary flow loss and the blade configuration loss in the blade lattice.
