    Abstract: A main object of the present invention is to provide a receptor layer forming resin which makes it possible to obtain a receptor layer for a thermal transfer image receptor sheet having excellent dyeing property. The present invention achieves the above object by providing a receptor layer forming polyurethane resin for a thermal transfer image receptor sheet obtained by copolymerizing: a high molecular weight polyol having a number average molecular weight of 1000 or higher (A); an organic isocyanate (B); and according to need, a polyol compound having a number average molecular weight of 500 or lower (C), wherein the receptor layer forming polyurethane resin for a thermal transfer image receptor sheet meets the following requirements (1) to (4): (1) the resin has at least two glass transition temperatures; (2) at least one of the glass transition temperatures is between ?200 to 0° C., and at least one is between 20 to 100° C.

    Abstract: The invention provides a magnetic recording medium having a structure in which a magnetic layer containing magnetic particles and a binder is formed on a nonmagnetic layer containing nonmagnetic particles and a binder, wherein the binder contained in the nonmagnetic layer contains a polyurethane resin having 50 to 100 eq/t of metal phosphate groups and 800 to 1600 eq/t of unsaturated hydrocarbon groups in its molecule and obtained by reacting a polyester polyol (A) containing an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid as an acid component, an aromatic polyisocyanate compound (B) and a compound (C) having unsaturated hydrocarbon groups and a functional group which reacts with an isocyanate group and a molecular weight of 500 or less, and the nonmagnetic layer has good dispersibility even by using fine nonmagnetic particles and can ensure satisfactory coating film strength even at a radiation dose of 3 Mrad or less.

    Abstract: This invention offers a coating resin composition which exhibits excellent drawing processability, processability and hardness and forms a coat having good processability, hardness, scuff resistance, impact resistance, stain resistance and blocking resistance even in clear or low pigment concentration. Disclosed herein is a coating resin composition containing a polyester resin (A) which has a glass transition point of 10-80.degree. C., reduced viscosity of not less than 0.2 dl/g and specific gravitity of 1.21-1.30 and mainly comprises aromatic dicarboxylic acid including terephthalic acid, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol and/or 1,3-propanediol and alkylene glycol with 5-10 carbon atoms and/or alicyclic glycol and a hardener (B) which is reactive with said polyester resin (A).
