  • Publication number: 20060137859
Abstract: A heat pipe (20) includes a pipe (22), a plurality of grooves (24), a hydrophilic layer (26), and a liquid operating fluid (28). The pipe includes an evaporator section (30) and an opposite condenser section (32). The grooves are formed on an inside wall (222) of the pipe. The hydrophilic layer is coated on the grooves. The operating fluid is located in the evaporator section. The operating fluid absorbs heat and is vaporized. The vapor is diffused to the condenser section and releases heat, thereby being transformed back into liquid. The liquid is adsorbed by the hydrophilic layer and is reflowed. This adsorption reduces or even avoids a shear force at an interface of the diffusing vapor and the reflowing liquid. Thus, the cyclical speed of the operating fluid is quickened, enhancing the thermal operating efficiency of the heat pipe.

  • Publication number: 20060032622
Abstract: A thermal assembly includes a heat source (10), a heat sink (50), a thermal interface material (30) and a porous membrane (20). The heat sink is over the heat source. The thermal interface material is enclosed with the porous membrane, with both being between the heat source and the heat sink. The porous membrane has a number of holes (23a) in which a number of carbon nanotubes (28) are provided. A method for fabricating the thermal assembly includes the following steps. The heat source having a surface is provided, wherein the surface defines a central part. The thermal interface material is coated onto the central part of the surface of the heat source. The thermal interface material is enclosed with the porous membrane, the porous membrane having the holes in which the carbon nanotubes are provided. The heat sink is attached to the heat source.

  • Patent number: 6296477
Abstract: Container solid light candle with heat-isolating effect. The candle oil is contained in a container. An inflammable and heat-resistant solid heat-isolating body is filled between the bottom of the candle oil and the bottom of the container. By means of the heat-resistance of the solid heat-isolating body, the heat generated by the burning candle oil is isolated from the table face so that the table face is protected from being burned or marked. When the candle oil is exhausted, by means of the inflammability of the solid heat-isolating body, the flame of the candlewick will automatically go out to prevent the bottom of the container and the table face from being burned so as to ensure safety in use. The transparent or semitransparent solid heat-isolating body is filled into the bottom of a specially patterned container. Moreover, decorative articles such as dry flowers, shells and shinning chips are embedded in the solid heat-isolating body to achieve a visually valuable artistic candle.

  • Patent number: 5171329
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a candle, wherein the butter oil is added to a solidified oil and mixed therewith to become solidified and form a wax-like state of fat which serves as the material of a candle by means of technical temperature and dissolving degree control; when the mixture is burned, no smoke or toxic particles are produced and an odor is released; the butter oil (a hundred percent pure vegetable oil) includes the following components: coconut oil, palm oil, palm olein and hydrogenate of palm oil, etc.; the as paimitic thereof is 0.1% at most, the melting point is within 35.degree. -37.degree. C.; emulsifier is added therein and the flavor is like butter; the additives are citric acid BHA and BHT .beta.-cartene; the specification of the solidified oil is as follows: A.V. is below 0.5, I.V. is below 2.0, S.V. is 195-198, melting point is 60.degree. C+1.degree. C. and water and impurity are below 0.1%.
