  • Patent number: 5374154
Abstract: A ramp bridging mechanism having a bridge plate, the free end of which is provided with an extension. A support member is pivotably connected to the underside of the extension and supports the bridge plate in a position of rest. To free the pivot joint of the support member from support forces, an end of the support member can be displaced from a pivoted position toward the extension and into abutment against the extension, and vice versa, whereby during such displacement the position of the support member shifts relative to the transverse pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 5148751
Abstract: A bridging mechanism, the bridge plate of which can be pivoted from a vertical rest position behind the tracks into a horizontal operating position in which the free end of the bridge plate rests upon a dock or platform. The pivot connection of the bridge plate is mounted on a vertical support structure of a travel mechanism that is disposed behind the tracks. To achieve a large span length of the bridging mechanism where low ceilings are present, the pivot connection of the bridge plate is mounted such that it can be raised and lowered on the support structure. When the bridge plate is swung up out of the working position and into the approximately vertical rest position, the pivot connection is lowered, and when the bridge plate is swung down from the approximately vertical rest position into the operating position, the pivot connection is lowered.

  • Patent number: 4986405
Abstract: A mobile inclined ramp having longitudinal members that are disposed at the sides and are connected by transverse members that have a U-shaped cross-sectional configuraiton, with the cross parts of the transverse members being directed downwardly. To increase the load-carrying capacity of the tranverse members and to increase the traction of the travel surface of the ramp, plates are disposed between the cross parts of the transverse members. At the top, these plates end approximately at the level of anti-slip or traction elements of flanges of the transverse members. The plates are securely clamped between adjacent transverse members by bolt connections.

  • Patent number: 4825606
Abstract: A deformable sealing arrangement for the gap between the edge of an opening in a building and the back end of a vehicle that is driven up to the opening. An apron is provided, with the side portions thereof being secured to the side legs of the U-shaped frame, and with the upper, transversely extending portion of the apron being secured to the horizontal leg of the frame. A horizontal tensioning member is provided below the horizontal, top leg of the frame, with the ends of this tensioning member being secured to the upper ends of the side legs of the frame. By tightening the tensioning member, the top leg can buckle upwardly. This counteracts the formation of creases in the apron and also counteracts a lateral displacement of the side legs.

  • Patent number: 4785594
Abstract: A deformable sealing arrangement for the gap between the edge of an opening in a building and the back end of a vehicle that is driven up to the building. An apron that can be deformed by the vehicle is provided. The two side portions of the apron are secured to the side legs of a rigid, U-shaped frame, and the transverse portion of the apron that is disposed above the opening of the building is secured to the transverse leg of the frame. In order to obtain a good sealing effect for various vehicle contours, no matter how close the vehicle is driven to the building, the side portions of the apron are suspended on support arms that are pivotable against a return force, and are movable about a vertical axis. Tension springs are disposed between the upper edge of the side apron portions and the support arms.

  • Patent number: 4749018
Abstract: A sectional door, for buildings and the like, includes panel-like sections that are hingedly or pivotably connected to one another. The hinge joints that provide the pivotal connection have securing plates or brackets that extend around the pivot or hinge pin. In order to be able to effect a rapid and reliable securing of the hinge joints at any desired location along the edges of the sections, the edges of the sections that are to be connected are inventively provided with longitudinally extending slots for receiving the brackets. In addition, these edges are provided with longitudinally extending, groove-like recesses that proceed from the slots. Arresting members that cooperate with the brackets extend into the recesses. The recesses have a semicircular cross-sectional shape, and the arresting members have a spherical shape.
