  • Patent number: 7182010
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for producing different hole patterns in sheet-shaped print materials. An apparatus and process for producing different hole patterns in a sheet-shaped print material is provided wherein a punch in a tool roller is raised and lowered relative to an outer surface of the tool roller in order to effectuate and ineffectuate, respectively, punching by the punch. According to a preferred embodiment, a die roller is provided having a die corresponding with the punch, and sheets are fed through the tool roller and the die roller. In one embodiment punches and dies are provided, and the punches are selectively raised and lowered in order to achieve a desired hole pattern in the sheet.

  • Publication number: 20030036468
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and method for processing of sheet-shaped materials comprising a first module having a first sheet-processing mode, a second module having a second sheet-processing mode, the first module being interchangeable with the second module within a common space. The sheet-processing modes include, without limitation, punching, cutting, embossing, creasing, folding and perforating, without limitation, alone or in combination. The first and second modules may be interchanged manually or automatically.

  • Patent number: 5660383
Abstract: A film transport apparatus (3) for sheet film is provided on the rear side of a cassette loading/unloading unit and a processing unit (2) positioned next to the latter. Film transport apparatus (3) comprises a transport table which can be moved back and forth on a horizontal plane and which transports a sheet film ejected through output opening (1b) of said loading/unloading unit into an input opening (2b) of processing unit (2). Transport table (8) is guided in vertical direction in such a manner (14) that its end (17, 20) facing input and output openings (1b; 2b), respectively, can be raised and lowered into the transport plane of said input and output openings (1b; 2b). A guideway (14) controlling the vertical movement of said transport table can be adjusted selectively into different positions of inclination and/or height in order to be able to adapt the transport plane of transport table (8) to vertical height differences between output opening (1b) and input opening (2b).

  • Patent number: 5303912
Abstract: On a suction device (4, 5, 6, 21) for separating sheet films (3a) from a sheet-film stack (3), a thickness sensor (10, 11, 15, 17, 19) is mounted so as to be pivotable together with said suction device. The suction device (6, 21) releases the sheet film (3a) to be removed from a sheet-film stack (3) by bending its front section. The thickness sensor (10, 11, 15, 17) which has a forklike design is spring-biased to move onto the bent area of the sheet film (3a) still located on sheet-film stack (3). The thickness sensor comprises two levers (10, 11) with rollers (15, 17), one lever (11) being pivotable relative to the other lever (10). Depending on its path of pivotal movement the pivotably mounted lever (11) actuates a switch (19). If there is more than one sheet film (3a) between the rollers (15, 17) of the levers (10, 11) switch (19) is actuated which interrupts the sheet-film removal operation and causes its repetition.

  • Patent number: 4853019
Abstract: Apparatus and method for moving a glass mass, such as a glass sheet in horizontal attitude through a bending section of a heating oven. The glass sheet at a deformation temperature is imparted movement along the conveyor system including a plurality of rollers, and a gaseous flow at high temperature, having a flow speed which varies continuously across the width of the glass sheet, impinges on its lower surface to at least partially balance the weight of the glass sheet in regions requiring good optical quality.

  • Patent number: 4728379
Abstract: The invention relates to the manufacture of laminated glass, comprising glass sheets and plastic sheets. In the manufacture, glass and plastic sheets are each cut to a final dimension desired for use in laminated glass, assembled in a preliminary way, and, then, by the action of temperature and pressure formed to the laminate. The cutting of the plastic sheets, is carried out more particularly a plastic sheet of polyvinyl butyral as an interlayer between outer sheets of silicate glass is carried out by a high pressure water jet.

  • Patent number: 4682997
Abstract: Process and apparatus for bending glass plates in horizontal or approximately horizontal position. The invention includes processing the glass plates by means of an installation comprising a glass reheating furnace, a bending station, and a horizontal conveyor for routing the glass plates through the furnace and bending station. A curved surface is placed above the horizontal conveyor in the bending station, and a blower is adapted to deliver a hot air current to bend the glass plates by heating them and applying pressure to urge them against the curved surface to which the desired configuration has been given. Then the glass plates are gently rested on a carrying frame where they continue to be supported, only in part, by said hot air current. The invention makes possible the bending of glass plates individually or, for example, in pairs.
