  • Patent number: 4562566
Abstract: In a disc player, such as for a rigid disc, a compartment slides on the inside of the lid between an outer position in which a disc may easily be inserted or removed, and a position in which, when the lid is closed, the disc is on a turntable. A lever, pivotally connected to the chassis and a sliding compartment in the lid, and an arm extending from the lid, are interconnected by a spring whose biasing force holds the lid in the open position.

  • Patent number: 4514839
Abstract: The invention relates to a disc player for a rigid information-carrying disc, which player has a disc holder on which the disc rotates during information transfer, the disc holder comprising a turntable and a centering device, which device comprises a plurality of centering elements which are arranged along a circle, which are each resiliently movable in a radial direction in order to keep the disc centered during rotation by means of the centering elements which act on the wall of the center hole in the disc. A lid which is movable from an open to a closed position in two stages carries a disc loader and is coupled to lifting means. After the disc loader has resiliently urged the disc onto the centering device and the turntable in a first stage, the lifting means lift the lid in a second stage until the disc loader is clear of the disc which is clamped on the centering device. The resilient centering elements firmly retain the disc on the turntable as a result of their radial elastic deflection.

  • Patent number: 4498161
Abstract: The invention relates to a disc player for a rigid information-carrying disc, which player comprises a turntable which is mounted for rotation on a chassis. The disc player comprises a pivotal lid for closing the player, which lid carries an annular disc loader which when the lid is pivoted towards the turntable urges the disc resiliently against the turntable. The lid is closed in two stages. In a first, loading stage in which the lid is pivoted towards the turntable and in a consecutive lifting stage, the lid is resiliently pivoted away from the turntable towards a final position, in which final position the disc loader is clear of the disc. The lid is positioned by stop means, and a return of the lid to the loading stage is inhibited by a latch.

  • Patent number: 4484321
Abstract: The invention relates to a disc player for a rigid information-carrying disc (11) which rotates on a turntable during information transfer. The disc player has a turntable (9) and a centering device (17) which comprises a plurality of U-shaped members (21) arranged along a circle, the inner limbs (23) being connected to a base ring (19) and the outer limbs being radially movable in an annular recess (13) of the turntable (9). The base ring (19) is provided with a collar (20) which surrounds a flanged sleeve (10) with clearance and whose position is fixed by means of a clamping sleeve which is pressed onto the flanged sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4415069
Abstract: A braking apparatus for the cover of a chamber in a recording and/or reproducing apparatus includes a stationary plate, a shaft connected to the plate and extending in a direction perpendicular therefrom, an actuating disc arranged on the shaft for rotation in a clockwise and a counterclockwise direction, a damping disc rotatably arranged on the shaft between the plate and the actuating disc, means for urging the discs simultaneously toward the plate and a silicone grease provided between the plate and the damping disc. The grease contacts both the plate and the damping disc. The braking apparatus further includes means for uniting the discs and providing simultaneous unidirectional damped rotation by the discs only when the actuating disc is rotated in the counterclockwise direction.

  • Patent number: 4410971
Abstract: A reproducing apparatus for information-carrying records, which apparatus comprises:a housing with an opening for inserting such records, which opening is situated at housing front,a drive mechanism for the rotary drive of the records about an axis of rotation, which mechanism is accommodated in the housing,a turntable for supporting the records, which turntable is axially movable between a lowered position and an operating position, anda lifting device for moving the turntable between the lowered position and the operating position,in which apparatusthere is provided a support (14), which supports the turntable (13) in the lowered position, the turntable (13) can be lifted off the support (14) into the operating position by means of the lifting device (35, 45, 47, 49, 51), andthere is provided a positioning device (11) for moving the support (14) and the turntable (13) carried by said support between the lowered position of the turntable and a position in which it extends at least partly from the housing (3).

  • Patent number: 4280705
Abstract: In a record player an overload coupling is arranged between a command disk and a pick-up arm controlled by the disk. The coupling comprises two coupling members which are pivotable relative to each other out of a neutral position about an axis, which members each comprise a guide which is concentrically curved around the axis. Viewed parallel to the axis, the guides coincide in the neutral position. A continuous helical spring, whose ends bear against end portions of the guides in the neutral position, is slid over the guides.

  • Patent number: 4257466
Abstract: A device for capturing a screw or nut loosely in a recess in a plastic part. The recess has inward ridges extending longitudinally from a ring-positioning rim. A retaining ring, having indentations corresponding to the ridges, is rotated to cut through and be held securely by the ridges.

  • Patent number: 4087096
Abstract: A pick-up arm guiding mechanism for an automatic record player having a command disc with pin-guiding concentric grooves for a sensor pin which is connected to the pick-up arm, each groove corresponding to a specific record size, the pin being directed into the desired groove by a mechanical catching means. During the rotation of the command disc in a changing cycle the pin engages a diversion groove which directs the pin toward the disc center, and the pin is forced out of the groove when the inward movement is blocked by a stop disposed such that the pin engages with the selected pin-guiding groove.
