  • Patent number: 4982027
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved process for the reprocessing of carbon containing wastes by pretreating the same thermally in the presence or absence of hydrogen, followed by hydrogenation of the pretreated material at elevated temperature and at least 200 bar hydrogen pressure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 26, 1989
Date of Patent: January 1, 1991
    Assignee: Rheinische Braunkohlenwerke AG
Inventors: Joachim Korff, Axel Giehr, Karl-Heinz Keim, Kurt Erdt
  • Patent number: 4726936
Abstract: In a process for injecting a radioactive sample of a substance into a reaction vessel, the sample is first enclosed in a first container in which it is irradiated, and then the first container with sample is placed in a second container which is separated from the reaction vessel by way of a closed valve. The second container is heated, and the sample is then conveyed out of the containers into the reaction vessel through the valve which is opened. The sample is enclosed within the first container by plugs or is frozen therein for which purpose the first container may possibly by put into intermediate storage in a storage container. An apparatus comprises the first container for receiving the sample, to be arranged and fixed within the second heatable pressure-resistant container which can be communicated with the reaction vessel through a valve.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 4, 1984
Date of Patent: February 23, 1988
Assignees: Rheinische Braunkohlenwerke AG., Kernforschungszentrum Karlsrume GmbH
Inventors: Kurt Erdt, Albert Merz, Gunter Ritter
  • Patent number: 4459273
Abstract: This invention relates to carbon black obtained from an aqueous suspension. A practically water-free carbon black is obtained from aqueous suspensions by mixing the suspension with liquid low-boiling hydrocarbons, then expanding the mixture in a vessel to evaporate the hydrocarbons, then drawing off separately the hydrocarbon vapors carrying the carbon black and the remaining liquid aqueous phase from the vessel, and separating the carbon black from the hydrocarbon vapors.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 19, 1982
Date of Patent: July 10, 1984
Assignee: Union Rheinische Braunkohlen Kraftstoff Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Wilfried Dolkemeyer, Kurt Erdt, Rene Hentges, Ewald Meisenburg
