  • Patent number: 5749216
Abstract: In the case of an open-end spinning arrangement, a spinning rotor is arranged in a rotor housing, to which a vacuum of at least 500 mm water column is applied. A fibre feed channel, beginning at an opening roller with an entry opening, is directed with an outlet opening at a sliding wall of the spinning rotor. The fibre feed channel bends slightly in the direction towards a fibre collecting groove of the spinning rotor. The cross sectional area of the outlet opening of the fibre feed channel measures at least 19 mm.sup.2 and amounts to at least 30% of the cross sectional area of the entry opening. As a result of the bend in the fibre feed channel, the fibres are collected together in a fibre bundle on a longitudinal side of the fibre feed channel. The fibre bundle occupies only a part area of the outlet opening when leaving the fibre feed channel and is fed with high precision onto the sliding wall. The outlet opening can thus have larger dimensions without this leading to inaccurate feeding of the fibres.

  • Patent number: 5704096
Abstract: In the case of a drafting arrangement for a spinning machine, at least one drafting zone has a sliver guide with a guiding surface for the travelling sliver. The sliver guide is arranged in a wedge-shaped gap, which is formed by a roller pair downstream of the drafting zone. According to the present invention, the sliver guide comprises a sliver brake with a pressing element which slides on the sliver. The pressing element is resilient with a pressure in the direction towards the guiding surface, and is disposable against the travelling sliver. The evenness of the drafting is thereby improved.

  • Patent number: 5375406
Abstract: A spinning arrangement in which the working elements for the processing of fiber material are arranged within an adjustable climate-controlled zone. The climate-controlled zone can be adjusted in such a manner that the fiber material fed to the working elements has the tendency to supply humidity to the ambient air of the climate-controlled zone. Before the feeding, particularly when deposited in a can or on a roving bobbin and/or on the transport path to the working elements, the fiber material is surrounded by air whose climate differs from the climate in the adjustable climate-controlled zone of the working elements. During the processing, the fed fiber material and the working elements are each in a different climatic condition that is optimal for the processing.

  • Patent number: 5305498
Abstract: In the case of an arrangement for the cleaning of the circumferential surface of a delivery roller pair of a drafting unit of a spinning machine, devices are provided for the reinforcing of the cleaning effect while the drafting unit starts up again after a stoppage. Heating devices are also disclosed for heating the pressure rollers before a piecing operation is started.

  • Patent number: 5304310
Abstract: A method for the concentration and purification of biomolecules is described and comprises introducing the biomolecule into an aqueous/organic solvent system and bringing about a phase separation by addition of salts, where the pH at which the concentration takes place, the solvents suitable for the aqueous/organic solvent system, and the nature of the salt are determined in a series of tests one embodiment concerns concentration of hirudin by using propanol, butanol or acetone a the solvent and sodium chloride as the salt.

  • Patent number: 5184374
Abstract: In the case of a drafting unit for a spinning machine comprising several top rollers and bottom rollers, continuous cleaning belts are provided which are arranged and held in such a manner that, because of the inherent weight of at least one of the deflecting rollers, they are tensioned, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, are brought to rest against the top rollers or bottom rollers.

  • Patent number: 4653264
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for open-end friction spinning including a pair of adjacently arranged suction rollers rotatable in the same rotational direction. One roller rotates into the wedge-shaped gap formation zone and the other rotates out of the wedge-shaped gap. It is provided that the suction slot of the suction insert inside of the roller rotating into the wedge-shaped gap is longer than the suction slot of the suction insert of the roller rotating out of the wedge-shaped gap. The portion of the suction slot of the roller rotating into the yarn formation zone which extends beyond the slot of the roller rotating out of the yarn formation zone is displaced circumferentially from the wedge-shaped gap so as to provide for enhanced spinning conditions in the region of the yarn tip.

  • Patent number: 4558562
Abstract: A spinning aggregate is disclosed for spinning wrapped yarn. A drivable hollow spindle carrys a corotating sleeve with a binding yarn wound on said sleeve, a corotating positive false-twisting device into which the binding yarn and a sliver enter, said sliver being fed by means of a delivery mechanism having a pair of delivery rollers forming a nip, and a pair of withdrawal rollers following the hollow spindle. It is provided that the distance of the false-twisting device from the nip formed by the pair of delivery rollers of the delivery device is shorter than the median staple length of the sliver to be wound.

  • Patent number: 4459801
Abstract: A feeding and opening device for open-end spinning units comprises a feeding roller and a feed table resiliently urged against the feeding roller for feeding a sliver to an opening roller, as well as at least one mechanical supporting element that is located at a spacing from a guide edge of the feed table, while leaving a free space that is open towards the atmosphere between the guide edge and the at least one mechanical supporting element. In accordance with preferred embodiments, the supporting element may be formed of at least one strip located essentially in parallel to an axis of rotation of the opening roller, or at least one row of needles arranged with their free ends directed towards the opening roller.

  • Patent number: 4435952
Abstract: A spinning assembly for a wrapped yarn spinning machine in which a staple sliver is guided by a delivery device into a hollow spindle which carries a co-rotating binding thread; the thread is wound around the staple sliver by the rotation of the hollow spindle. A stationary balloon limiter is provided in the vicinity of the binding thread and a screen is mounted in front of the delivery device, which screen comprises a passage for the staple sliver. This screen is constructed as a screen plate, mounted at an axial distance from the balloon limiter. This construction of the present invention has the advantage that an air stream is generated within the balloon limiter, which flows upward from below and leaves radially through the gap between the upper end of the uncovered balloon limiter and the screen plate. This air stream is directed counter to both the sliver and the binding thread entering the hollow spindle, so that no fiber fly can penetrate the interior of the hollow spindle.
