  • Patent number: 11585271
Abstract: A seal system for a bearing compartment of a gas turbine engine includes an annular rotating seal seat in contact with the seal element to form a dry seal interface therebetween to separate am oil-wetted zone from a dry zone. The annular rotating seal seat forms a dry zone annular space adjacent to the annular seal element and the rotating component. The annular rotating seal seat having an oil return passageway through the rotating seal seat to provide a communication path from the dry zone annular space outboard of the rotating component back to the oil-wetted zone.

  • Patent number: 11168585
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed to a gas turbine engine, having a fan that rotates about a central longitudinal axis. The gas turbine engine may comprise a nacelle having an outer wall that radially circumscribes the fan. The gas turbine engine may further comprise a fan drive gear system that drives the fan, and a rotating shaft that is coupled to and drives the fan drive gear system. The gas turbine engine may further comprise an air vent line in fluid communication with a bearing compartment to remove air from the bearing compartment and provide the removed air to a deoiler that removes oil droplets from the removed air and provides deoiler filtered air. A vent output line receives the deoiler filtered air and discharges the deoiler filtered air along a radially interior surface of the nacelle outer wall.

  • Publication number: 20170009915
Abstract: An adapter and seal system is provided. The system may comprise a cylindrical body centered about an axis and a first thread disposed about an outer diameter of the cylindrical body. A protrusion on the cylindrical body may extend radially outward from the cylindrical body with a surface orthogonal to the axis partially defining the protrusion. A circular trench may be formed in the surface and may open in an axial direction towards the first thread. A metallic C-seal may be disposed in the circular trench.

  • Publication number: 20140322073
Abstract: A hand rail sanitizing system for sanitizing a hand rail of an escalator stairway from germs and bacteria on the hand rail is provided. The hand rail has a top wall, a bottom wall, and a pair of side walls. The hand rail sanitizing system comprises a container having a top wall and a bottom wall with the container positioned nearingly adjacent the hand rail. A UV-light emitting diode (LED) bulb is encased within the container. As the hand rail continuously passes by the container, the LED bulb irradiates through the bottom wall of the container toward the top wall of the hand rail.
