Publication number: 20240153763Abstract: Systems and methods for growth of silicon carbide over a layer comprising graphene and/or hexagonal boron nitride, and related articles, are generally described. In some embodiments, a SiC film is fabricated over a layer comprising graphene and/or hexagonal boron nitride, which in turn is disposed over a substrate. The layer and/or the substrate may be lattice-matched with the SiC film to reduce defect density in the SiC film. The fabricated SiC film may then be removed from the substrate via, for example, a stressor attached to the SiC film. In certain cases, the layer serves as a reusable platform for growing SiC films and also serves a release layer that allows fast, precise, and repeatable release at the layer surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2023Publication date: May 9, 2024Applicants: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The Government of the United States of America, as Represented by the Secretary of the Navy, ROHM Co. Publication number: 20240037127Abstract: Described herein are techniques that may be implemented by a computerized system for parsing contracts using natural language understanding and/or textual analytics rules and determining whether a party to a contract is compliant with insurance coverage identified by the contract. Some techniques described herein can create structured data from unstructured contract text describing insurance coverage that a party to a contract is required to hold. Some such techniques including comparing the structured data indicating required coverages (which was determined from the unstructured text) to other structured data indicating coverages held by a party, to determine whether the coverage held by the party satisfies the required coverages. In some embodiments, a system implementing these techniques output whether coverage is missing or otherwise insufficient, or whether the coverages held by a party satisfy required coverages of the contract.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2023Publication date: February 1, 2024Applicant: Certificate Hero, Inc.Inventors: John Paul SUTRICH, Richard Kurt MYERS, Jake OCONNELL, Michael J. Patent number: 10846479Abstract: A system for scoring micro-blogging messages is provided, including an extractor, and evaluator, a calculator, and a publisher. The extractor may be configured to receive micro-blogging messages, to detect messages containing terms of interest, to extract raw data, and to store the data in a database. The evaluator may be configured to access and parse the stored data into tokenized data, and to store the tokenized data in a database. The evaluator may also be configured to identify relevant micro-blogging messages; to tag message as indicative; and to filter messages from low-volume or malicious sources before being tagged as indicative. The calculator may be configured to access a sentiment dictionary; to calculate a sentiment score of the tokenized data, and to calculate a sentiment signature for a term of interest. The publisher may be configured to provide access to clients of the system.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2018Date of Patent: November 24, 2020Assignee: SOCIAL MARKET ANALYTICS, INC.Inventors: Jeffrey G. Patent number: 9174616Abstract: A method applying a line lock feature, i.e. a wheel hold mode, with a brake system for a vehicle comprises initiating a wheel hold mode for the brake system and applying pressure to the wheels of a non-driven axle. The wheel brake pressure is maintained at the wheels of the non-driven axle independent of application of the brake pedal. The wheel brake pressure at the wheels of the non-driven axle is released when a release trigger event occurs. The release trigger event may be an automatic trigger event or a driver actuated trigger event.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2013Date of Patent: November 3, 2015Assignee: Continental Automotive Systems, Inc.Inventors: Seth Michael Taylor, Clinton Schumann, Andrew Knepper, Kurt Myers Branson

Publication number: 20120316731Abstract: A method of controlling a brake system comprises monitoring vehicle information with an electronic control unit. An algorithm is performed to detect the presence of a mini-spare tire assembly. A yaw offset value is pre-determined by the electronic control unit when a mini-spare tire assembly is detected at one of the steerable tire assembly locations. The yaw offset is then applied upon detection of a brake event.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2011Publication date: December 13, 2012Applicant: CONTINENTAL AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: Christopher Allen Harrison, Kurt Myers Branson, Justin Audley Ruediger

Publication number: 20060011497Abstract: The present invention is directed to a contemporary beverage dispenser, especially suited as a baby bottle, comprising a solid connector that has an upper portion and a lower portion and a plastic bag connected to the lower portion. The uniqueness of the combination of the connector and bag is that the connector is designed to fit on the lip of a conventional baby bottle with the bag in the bottle or is used without a bottle. When used without a bottle, a compression ring is used to connect a head, such as a nipple, to the beverage dispenser of the present invention.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2005Publication date: January 19, 2006Inventors: Eugenio Segovia, Kurt Myers
