Publication number: 20240122398Abstract: A beverage system includes a vessel having a chamber for retaining a volume of diluent such as water, and at least one assembly for expressing aliquots of flavor concentrate from a flavor concentrate cartridge into the diluent. Flavor concentrate is expressed from the cartridge by actuating a sliding pawl that moves a ratchet bar to depress a plunger on the cartridge. Cartridges of flavor concentrate are inserted into the beverage system and spent cartridges are removed upon depletion. In this manner a user can customize the volume and ratio of flavor and additives in their beverage.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Joshua KUNIS, John Richard Laverack, Cobern Eugene McGraw, Kurt Raymond Weseman

Publication number: 20230355010Abstract: A display case can include panels, and frame members (e.g., corner extrusions) that secure the panels. In some examples, the frame members can magnetically secure the panels together in an assembled configuration of the display case. In some examples, the frame members can cooperate to provide improved mounting and demounting processes.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2023Publication date: November 9, 2023Applicant: Gaylord Bros., Inc.Inventors: Robert C. Publication number: 20210147140Abstract: A pod for storing and dispensing a beverage preparation ingredient during a dispensing operation. The pod comprises a body defining a cavity for storing the beverage preparation ingredient, said body comprising a dispensing side and a closed side, and at least one side wall extending from the closed side to the dispensing side; and an actuation member contained within said cavity. The actuation member is configured to cause an opening to be formed between said cavity and a region outside the pod when actuated. The opening is formed around a perimeter of a dispensing surface of the pod at a junction formed between the at least one side wall and the dispensing surface, the dispensing surface being provided at the dispensing side of the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2020Publication date: May 20, 2021Inventors: Brian George Kennedy, Edward Alexander Bedford, John R Laverack, George Edward Riehm, Kurt Raymond Weseman, Bruce Renfrew, James Williamson

Patent number: 10926945Abstract: A dispensing apparatus for dispensing a beverage preparation ingredient from a pod. The dispensing apparatus comprises a pod support region configured to support a pod, an actuator configured to engage with a corresponding actuator engagement region of the pod, and a rotation mechanism for rotating the pod. The apparatus is configured to cause the actuation member to cause an opening to be formed in a pod supported by the pod support region. The apparatus is further configured to cause the rotation mechanism to cause the pod to rotate about an axis of rotation during a dispensing operation, so as to cause the beverage preparation ingredient to be released from the pod via said opening.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2019Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Assignee: NE Innovations LimitedInventors: Brian George Kennedy, Edward Alexander Bedford, John R Laverack, George Edward Riehm, Kurt Raymond Weseman, Bruce Renfrew, James Williamson

Publication number: 20190231119Abstract: There is provided a system for filtering liquid. The system comprises a liquid storage reservoir and a liquid inlet reservoir. The system further comprises a filter receiving portion configured to receive a filter, such that, in use, a filter is provided between said liquid inlet reservoir and said liquid storage reservoir and is, in use, configured to filter liquid passing from the liquid inlet reservoir to the liquid storage reservoir along a first liquid flow path. The system further comprises second liquid flow path from the liquid inlet reservoir to the liquid storage reservoir which by-passes said filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2019Publication date: August 1, 2019Inventors: Brian George Kennedy, Edward Alexander Bedford, John R Laverack, George Edward Riehm, Kurt Raymond Weseman

Publication number: 20190099767Abstract: A shower apparatus includes: a mounting bracket or mounting component; and a rigid component or shower panel. The shower panel includes one or more spray arrangements of sprayers, spray arrays, or spray patterns, and fluid passageways connecting water input to the one or more spray arrangements. The shower apparatus further includes a water flow control assembly for selecting a single flow from a plurality of flows to different combinations of the spray arrangements. The water flow control assembly comprises a plurality of buttons, a constrained strip, and a plurality of valves. A button when selected deflects the constrained strip—which is constrained and capable of deflection at a single location—into a corresponding valve to activate flow through the valve. This deflection straightens a previous deflection, thereby closing the previously open valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2018Publication date: April 4, 2019Inventors: Christopher Michael CAPP, Patrick BAILEY, Jeremy LOSAW, Raeshon MCNEIL, John LAVERACK, Kurt Raymond WESEMAN, Cobern Eugene MCGRAW
