Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing and selecting an application easily processed by a broadcasting receiving apparatus among the plurality of applications and executing the selected application are provided. The application processing method includes: analyzing information on each of a plurality of applications providing a common broadcasting service; selecting an application suitable for a broadcasting receiving apparatus among the plurality of applications based on the analysis; and executing the selected application. When a plurality of applications is transmitted to a broadcasting receiving apparatus, the broadcasting receiving apparatus can select an easily executable application.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for receiving, storing, and executing a data broadcast application. The apparatus includes an application controller that determines whether receiving of application data needed to execute an application is completed before storing of a data broadcast is completed, allows the received application data to be stored when receiving of the application is completed, and determines whether the application will be executed together with audio/video data when the stored data broadcast is reproduced; and a storage unit that stores the completely received application data together with the audio/video data. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of errors in executing an application.

The apparatus includes a recording filter generating a search list used to search stored data broadcasting services; and a recording manager controlling the recording filter to generate the search list of data broadcasting services that include applications related to the data broadcasting services, the data broadcasting services being filtered out from the stored data broadcasting services. The apparatus can filter out data broadcasting services that include applications from a plurality of stored data broadcasting services and provide a search list of the filtered-out data broadcasting services.

The apparatus and method are capable of moving or copying a broadcasting service stored in a storage device to another storage device and using the moved or copied broadcasting service. The apparatus includes a broadcasting reception unit receiving a broadcasting signal containing a broadcasting service; and a recording manager controlling the storing of the broadcasting service, wherein the recording manager controls the broadcasting service stored in a media storage volume to be moved or copied to another media storage volume and manages recording information indicating a media storage volume in which the broadcasting service is stored.

A certification error and displaying of wrong time information caused by wrong system time information can be prevented, and certification time can be reduced, by setting a system time for processing content on the basis of time information received from a content provider, confirming a validity period of a certificate for approval to access the content, and displaying content information.
